I don't think so, but I don't know how to explain the national mindfuck that got Bush re-elected.

I know some people who seem to be possessed by stupidity, don't know if that counts.

I definitely think that our brains are capable of tuning in to things that the average person does not normally tune in to. I've never been presented with really good evidence personally, but I also see nothing in my understanding of nature and the universe that is wholly inconsistent with the possibility.

I know that 99% of the people on this board will hate everything Weezer puts out in the future, extending my state of confuson, so yes.

I didn't use any big words in there. I just spoke in a very condescending tone.

I'm not following you. When you say "our," are you distinguishing between the people on this board and mere "average" people and their brains?

No. By "our" I meant people in general. I believe our brains are capable of more than we use them for, especially in our mundane modern lives. Also, I believe some people have greater aptitudes for psychic ability than others, just as some people are better at math or languages or strategy or empathy or any number of other things.

for the life of me i cant remember where or from what i read this, but the human only uses like 10-20% of their brains functions. those who claim to do other stuff, are supposed to be able to access the other 80-90%

I guess. But I'm not really a big Star Wars fan, at least not since I was a little kid.

I do think Lucas has generally the right idea about this sort of thing though. You have to remember, for every force in the universe that we have measured and understood through instruments and data and experiments, we started off by simply experiencing it with our bodies and minds. We then felt the need to explain it, and measure it and otherwise objectively proove its existence. Who knows? Maybe in a few centuries psi phenomena will be as scientifically accepted as electromagnetism or gravity.

So, I just realized my organization's base in Los Angeles has this:

http://www.iigwest.com/

Quote:
The Independent Investigations Group investigates fringe science, paranormal and extraordinary claims from a rational, scientific viewpoint, and disseminates factual information about such inquiries to the public.

They have a $50,000 award for anyone who can prove their extraordinary claims. Nobody has so far.

Shocker.
