"Julie Johnson," a domestic drama starring Lili Taylor ("Six Feet Under," "Say Anything...") as the title character and Love ("The People vs. Larry Flynt," "Man on the Moon") as her best friend, was filmed in the spring of 2000 in and around New York. Lensed and co-written by Bob Gosse ("Niagara, Niagara"), "Julie Johnson," based on the play by Wendy Hammond, made its official debut at Sundance in 2001. Love went on to win the Outstanding Actress in a Feature Film award at Los Angeles' Outfest for her role, and the flick took the Jury Prize for Best Feature - Lesbian at the Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, but "Julie Johnson" has never been given a theatrical release. It makes its small-screen premiere on the gay cable channel "Here!" on June 3.
