The only 3 bands I listen to any more seem to be Beck, The Tragically Hip, and Primus.... Actually, Primus is the only band I've listened to for the last 3 months, and I still don't have all their albums... I may never listen to another band ever again (at least I hope not!)...

The Tragically Hip is also good! ever heard their cover of Bob Dylan's "Seven Days"?

I broke out "Tales from the Punchbowl" the other day and gave it a listen. That album makes me feel like I'm on drugs, no matter how sober I might be.

Uhh, they're decent. Les Claypool is a hell of a bass player, and you can't argue with that. But, they're a bit too goofy for my tastes.

Its a New band Les is in. It's supposed to be a parody of jambands ala Spinal Tap. They're supposed to be filling the last remaining spot in the TBA slot at Bonnaroo but it's kind of hush hush about it being les's band until the last minute. I think he wants to make a movie about this jam band parody also.

Should be interesting.

"Goofy" is the exact word I thought of after hearing them for the first time. Then I went and saw them live, some of the best instrumental jams I've ever heard!

you cant beat 'Tales from the Punchbowl' or 'Suck on This' ( its fucking LIVE man, they sound better than in studio. logic = ? )

that is, unless, you're using this as your ammo:

That one's my fave, and it's the one that got me into them. IS IT LUCK?!?!?!

Also, I was jamming to Hamburger Train from Pork Soda the other day, and that is one damn fine instrumental.

talk of instruments + 'is it luck' has lead me to the conclusion that...i must tell you boys and girls that 'is it luck' displays some of the finest instrument playing ever on the face of the bass players' world. im really wasted. bye.
