this was going to be my first year of watching hockey from the beginning of the season to the end. i hope they can get their shit together and be ready for the new season

I guess it kind of is, but not really... when a team wins the Cup, the players all get to spend a day with it... they pretty much do whatever they want (I remember Brenden Shanahan spent the day with it at his father's grave, which I found really cool.)
This year they're doing the same thing only they're giving it to the oldest living players who have their names on the Cup.
