my high school marching band did a west side story for our show one year. we won a marching band invitational and we all burst out singing "i feel pretty, oh so pretty..."

having said that, i've never actually seen the musical, and i only know the songs that we played during the show. maybe i should go rent it or something.

i adore the music. the movie is definitely a little on the cheesy side of things but it just gets better every time i watch it, though i recommend keeping a box of tissues right next to you :(

it does bother me that the sharks have so much makeup on that they are actually closer to purple than orange.

West Side Story >>>>>>> Grease

In fact I could name a dozen musicals better than Grease, right off the top of my head.

no musical can compare to the majesty of jesus christ superstar.

search your feelings, you know it to be true.

jesus christ superstar IS pretty damn fabulous.

the thing with grease. almost all musicals are better. but it has a feel good/cheesy quality about it that makes it SO satisfyyyyyiiiiing.
