I don't really know his style, he has a song on the Antony and the Johnsons album and its pretty good. I've been trying to download his sister's album recently but I can never find it. But she released one recently too:

As for Rufus I'm not familiar with his catalogue but he's very popular.

Go get "Poses," his second CD. An EXCELLENT album, I think his best work.

He has released four albums, his first self-titled, Poses, Want One and Want Two.

Don't download the album. Go right ahead and buy it. It's really not expensive. I bought my copy 14.99 $. It's well worth it.

And Rufus... I just can't stop listening to Want One and Want Two, back to back. I saw him live last year, and he gives an amazing show! I'm planning on seing him in Ottawa this summer. He's playing with his sis, so it's bound to be a great show!

Want One is quite good. Want Two was alright. I have to check out his other material.

Has he released Want Three yet? I see a pattern here.

No, but there's a B-sides coming, and it's called Want More.

Anyone hear him perform Careless Whisper by George Michael/Wham! with Ben Folds? Totally sweet.

A close friend of mine is one of his aunt's (Sloan Wainwright) touring guitarists. And if I'm not mistaken, he was born about 15 minutes away from where I live.

I'm not entirely into his stuff, but it's enjoyable.

Definitely check out "Poses." It's better than "Want One" in my opinion. "Want One" is good, but I think "Poses" is better from start to finish.

Not a big fan of "Want Two" unfortunately....a little to overblown and dramatic for my tastes.

now that's a great singer/songwriter.

i've been following him for years now, and I think everyone should have his first two records: Self-titled and Poses.

I think those two are both better than the last two records which are still good though. But those first are great!

His dad Loudon wrote some great tunes aswell, although that is more folk oriented.

he wanted to release it as a double album, but for some reason the record company protested. want one is blue and he's a dude in armour on the cover/liner notes. want two is pink and he's a chick in a medieval kind of dress thing on the cover/liner notes.

all of his albums are good. i could listen to want one forever and not be unhappy. poses is my next favourite.

his sister martha's album, martha wainwright is wonderful. i'll listen to it and wind up with her songs stuck in my head for a week. it's really a must listen. the last i knew, you could stream tracks from the album at her website, http://www.marthawainwright.com

his father, loudon wainwright III, has like eighteen albums or something. i only have the live album so damn happy. it's really good too, and i've been trying to find his studio albums to no avail. so damn happy isn't like a traditional live album. it's almost like being at a small coffee shop show. i'd really recommend it.

i've heard a few tracks from his aunt, sloan, and i must say that i've enjoyed what i've heard.

all in all, it's a very talented family. the songs are most always quite well crafted and i don't think anyone would really be disappointed if they picked up an album or two.

Like I said, the Wainwrights live around here, so they're constantly performing around here. Like lemoncoated said, they're immensely talented.

I've seen a few shows of Sloan's, one of Rufus, and at least one of Loudon and they were good.

damnit, rufus was on the late late show on monday i missed it. i didn't even realize he was going to be on there. i'll have to watch out and see when/if they repeat it and i'll let you all know.

i gave want two another listen last night after not listening to it for a long while. i still thought it was alright, but i did enjoy the one you love. that was a good song.

i'll be getting a copy of want one in the mail sometime soon. it's definitely my fav. album by him, so i can't wait for that to arrive.

I've never really heard anything by him before, but I bought Want Two on amazon for like 6 bucks the other day... looking forward to hearing it.
