I have an HP ipaq 5555, it's a couple years old now but it has been great.
I guess the million dollar question is - do you want pocketpc or palm? Everything nowadays has an SD slot. when you say wireless internet, do you just want wifi or do you want to be online everyhwere you go (like a cellular connection)
if it's Wifi you want, i'd probably recommend the dell axim x50v (or the x50 if you don't want the 640x480 screen). if you time it right (read: watch slickdeals.net for coupons) you can get this top-of-the-line pocketpc for $350-$400 (regular price is $424 and even then it's a steal). it's got a 480x640 screen, 624MHz Processor, will be upgradable to the next version of windows mobile, wireless LAN (802.11b) and bluetooth.
it's great for video. you can drop a divx video on there and play it back without any conversion. of course if it's a 700MB movie, that'll pretty much fill your SD card. on my ipaq, i have a 5gb hard drive loaded with TV shows. about 40MB for a 22 minute show, i get a lot of them on there. quality isn't jaw-dropping but it's nice enough for the smaller screen.
they also make the x50 (without the V) that has a lower resolution screen (320x240) and slower processors (416 or 520MHz). but still have the rest of the features.
I don't know much about the palm OS models. they just released one called the lifedrive, with a 4GB hard drive built in. Not sure if it has wifi or not, many of the newer PDAs do.
now if you want one that's always online, you probably need a treo 650 or a pocketpc phone. If you already have a cell phone company that you like, see what they offer. if you have a cell phone with bluetooth, you can get one of the non-phone PDAs and use bluetooth to connect to theinternet (through the phone).
