I can't believe it took three weeks to get a CWS thread. I thought for sure when Baylor advanced last weekend Parchy would have already posted about Baylor's win. I was only a week off.
The regionals and super regionals were great. Can't wait to see how the week unfolds. Florida is very hot right now. They swept FSU and beat UT with no problem yesterday.
It's all about how your pitching holds up. One bad start and it screws you for the rest of the week.

Being from Nebraska and attending the College World Series numerous times, I'm proud to say that it is one of the best sporting events of the year. The sound of the aluminum bats, the humid weather, and the fans from all over the country make it very enjoyable. As for this year, I think Tulane and Nebraska are going to make the finals with Nebraska...(gasp) taking it all. I wouldn't care too much if it went the other way though.

i've seen mccormick pitch 3 times and i haven't really been impressed with him
He didn't have his stuff in the first inning or so, but after that he steadied out a little bit... he did well against the best hitting team in college baseball right now. I've seen him start in person a bunch of times and he's got incredible stuff... I'm not sure how durable he can be in the bigs, but he pitched 137 pitches against Clemson and looked invincible.
That said, that error that brought in 2 runs was Mandel's fault... that guy is an idiot... he threw up his arms like a retard. The Bears just couldn't drive in the runs they put on base.

i think the sun was in his eyes.
mccormick has no control of his breaking pitch.
Sun shmun.
And I certainly wouldn't say McCormick has "no" control over his breaking ball, considering he buckled some knees with it today. It's a serious 12-6 hammer and when he's not throwing it into the dirt (which really isn't all that often) he's getting guys out with it.
Welp, da Bears beat Oregon State today... what a thrilling game that was... looks like we're looking at playing either Tulane or Texas depending on who loses tonight.

I couldn't really find any other threads at the moment that interested me enought to read and post in, so I thought I'd throw in my $.02 on the College World Series:
I haven't really been paying attention, but I like Florida's orange uni's.

Good contribution.
I vastly underrated Florida coming into the CWS. They have a really strong bullpen and they beat Nebraska (a popular pick to win it all) yesterday 7-4... since the tables are being turned a lot (mainly just Texas beating everybody) it wouldn't be a surprise to see a Florida-like team win it all this year. There is no clear cut #1 right now.

Didn't I see Nebraska score a couple runs on consecutive fielding errors by the other team's pitcher about a week ago? That guy should have just ate the ball. It's amazing how bad pitchers are at throwing to first base.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. In fact, Baylor let two UT runs in because of that very thing on Saturday. As I was surrounded by 200 screaming UT fans I watched in horror as our #1 pitcher and 1st round pick gave up a 2-run 1st inning home run and then threw the ball to first only to have it get past the 1st baseman (who is also a pitcher... a very, very good pitcher... a guy who actually got the win today) a couple innings later because of the stupid sun. Because of those two plays the Bears were never really in that game. Give us another shot at the Texas losers... we'll fuck their shit up.
