Anyone play? It's one of the greatest games on earth... more running than anything else, as much strategy as any professional sport, and it takes a lot of skill to master the many different ways to throw a frisbee.
I know we have had a thread about this but I couldn't find it... it may have been on the old board.

I see people playing it on campus all the time. And these people look like pretty good athletes, not hippies. They're not rugby players, but they sure as hell ain't Jerry Garcia.

Yeah, the times are changing. It used to be just hippies but now it's hippies and other people. Watch the movie PCU to get my drift... golly that movie is so fucking good.

It's a lot harder than it looks but it's fun to play even if you're not very good. I like to play it wih just regular people and not super good people because they tend to be "frisbee" hogs.

You should come to North Bay some day... there are about 25 teams in our league. It's amazingly competitive. The city has only about 50000 people and we've had about 20 players in the World Championships.

That sounds great and everything, but it's in Canada. And there are only a handful of reasons to visit.

Actually, there aren't even a handful. If you want to come to North Bay, you either want to play in a big Ultimate tournament or go fishing.

We once played against a team from the University of Calgary, and they were really awesome guys. They told us it was so cold up there they had to practice in a gym over the winter, and we were the only team at the end of the day willing to play with them in the mud (they were determined to get as much playing time as possible).
