Apparently the Patriots did not actually deserve to win Super Bowl XXXVI and were merely the beneficiaries of a league-wide conspiracy. This isn't a new theory - when they won it after 9/11 all the non-thinkers figured there must have been government involvement to ensure that a team called the Patriots win the Super Bowl - but it's hysterical to see the effort this guy puts into it.
This sick nut goes on and on about a league conspiracy to give the Patriots the Super Bowl, but forgets to mention that the referees cost them an easy victory by (correctly) calling McGinest for holding which nulified a 3rd Patriots TD in the 4th quarter.
It's amazing how little these clowns know about football. Year after year, game after game, the referees ALWAYS enforce the rules more laxly in the playoffs so as not to risk a bad call which could ruin a team's entire season's effort. Belichick knew this and, being an infinitely better coach than Martz, had his team take full advantage.
And yet these fucking children think the officiating here was a special case.
Shit, if the referees enforced the rules in the playoffs the way they do in the regular season then the Rams never would've gotten by Tampa in the '99 NFC title game.
I'm actually embarrassed for Rams fans right now...

i am the biggest Rams fan you will ever find, and I will tell you the reason the Rams lost that super bowl was simple:
MIKE MARTZ and LOVIE SMITH
Martz coached a fucking IDIOTIC COWARDLY AWFUL game and Lovies Prevent D at the end of the game cost the Rams a chance to win in OT.
I will not pin that loss, which haunts me DAILY and is the worst and most painful sporting moment in my lifetime, on the refs....but I will agree that the Pats were allowed to MUG the recievers all game long, and they werent the only team to do so they were just GOOD at it, and they eventually started to enforce the rule just recently. Either way, Martz should have made adjustments to the offense and actually used Marshall Faulk, who was still on a god-like level that yr, probably the last time he was THAT good..
now lets never ever speak of that night again, I have to go cry into my Kurt Warner jersey now.....

1. Martz refusal to change the gameplan and let an injured Warner throw all night when Faulk would have grinded out points
2. in the 4th, Ricky Proehl scored WAY too early. HE was about to go out of bounds at the 20 (i think) and the Rams would have probably scored that TD and left NO time on the clock, going to OT. Instead Proehl stayed up and scored with too much time left.
3. Lovie Smith used the Prevent D and we all know what happens to ANYONE who uses the prevent D....yup. they LOSE.
now I am in a miserable mood, just rehashing this. I need to go far away and repress this all again.....tonight Im going to watch the SB 34 highlight video 3 times!!

Meh, you'll get to watch Warner with the Cards this season, they might do pretty well because that division sucks ass. A healthy Boldin, Fitzgerald and the other very decent guy who's name escapes me, plus a decent running attack and a decent defense. Arizona may be decent next season.

not you, our local sports talk station guys are friends with and I believe partners with a St Louis station. We have Issac Bruce, and Torre Holt on occassionally and I was remembering the post game comments from mark bulger who still has bruises on his ass from that game. They are so cocky even when they get their asses handed to them. Comes from the coach I guess. At least Kurt was humble.

Warner played well for the Giants last year and the Cards examined him and gave him a contract so he must be physically able to play football....I cant wait to see him prove himself this year, hopefully he gets the W when arizona plays IN st louis....

In Warner's last 4 games, he was sacked 24 times. Eli was sacked only 12 games in the 7 games he started playing with the same offensive line and receivers.
The team was actually winning in spite of Warner thanks to some opportunistic plays on defense and Tiki Barber having a great season. If Warner had kept up a high level of play, they would have stayed with him and tried to make a run at the playoffs. At the time he was benched, the coaches actually felt Eli game the team a better chance to win.
