They just pulled Joe Mays after four innings, down 6-1. The ageless wonder Terry Mulholland -who actually is very aged and not wonderful at all- comes in and is up to nearly 30 pitches in his first inning (with two walks, a wild pitch, a double, one earned run so far).

I love how everybody thinks this is the same ole sox. This team doesn't even resemble any of the past teams the last five years. Except for the uniforms. This is a team built on speed, defense, and pitching. SPEED and DEFENSE DOESNT GO INTO SLUMPS FOLKS!!! Their starting pitching is rediculous, and their bullpen is even more rediculous. First team to 10, 20, 30, 40 and soon to be 50 wins, their in it for the long haul. And this team hasnt even started to hit! Thomas is gonna be the factor. Twin fans are just pissed off, not so much that they are losing, but because the sox are beating them at their own game.

Outside of Podsednik, where's the speed? Their starting pitching is OK, certainly not great.
My money is still on the Twins.

well they lead baseball in stolen bases with 75, podsednik has 35. Iguchi, Rowand, Uribe, Harris, and ozuna all have speed and steal bases. The big word here is BALANCE. Balance in every aspect of the game. Thats how their winning. If their starting staff is okay, who is better? I dont think your given them the credit they deserve. Plus we have the best pitching prospect in baseball with brandon mccarthy.

And the whole "defense doesn't go into slumps" is utter bullshit anyway. Paul Witt of the Baylor baseball team committed 2 errors all season at SS (that's about 70 games) and then he committs 8 in the course of 15 innings in the CWS. Defense most certainly slumps.

A good effort but a slump is over a prolonged period of time, not 15 innings.

Not really, we actually have working toilets and dont piss in tubs. We also dont have polls that obstruct your view from the playing field. As far as the neighborhood, Bridgeport is not a bad place, but sure doesnt compare to wrigleyville, but since when was it that you had to have a good neighborhood to like the team. Does that have anything to do with the players on the field. Anyways, Wrigleyville 50 years ago was not the best nieghborhood in the city. Its trendy to be a cub fan, thats fine.

And if you sit in the upper deck you can almost, ALMOST get altitude sickness.
And I seriously doubt Wrigleyville will be as bad as those housing projects on the other side of the Skyway anytime soon. That neighborhood is frightening.
And both teams suck, for the record.
