Arroyo at closer would be a waste, methinks... taking maybe the best long reliever the Sox have and wasting his stamina wouldn't be a good idea... but I don't follow the Red Sox so I don't really know anything else about him
Please just go away... you don't want to be here in Boston. Give Arroyo the closer job.... or grab one in a trade (but who's available??).
All-star Brian Fuentes
hahah

maybe all the innings Foulke threw in the playoffs last year had an adverse affect on him.
Pitchers usually don't go from being borderline dominant to ineffective from one season to the next unless someting is physically bothering them.

isn't he going through a divorce?
yes he is... but that doesn't change the fact that he sucks.
i would love to have billy wagner, but i don't think that will happen.
and i know a few months ago i would rather have foulke over rivera... but recent events have made that tough to still think. even though rivera vs. the sox lately has been as bad as foulke vs. anyone.
ok it's game time.

wagner will not be on the phils this time next month, and only a few teams can take on his salary. if the sox have ANY prospects, especially at catcher or third, it will happen.

The Sox have a very good prospect at catcher, Kelly Shoppach, and just signed Viratek and Mirabelli to extentions which makes him expendable. There was also talk of Kevin Youkilis for Wagner.

but yeah, i'm concerned...he's headed for the DL
i guess it's the "what have you done for me lately" syndrome.... hope he's pitched his last one in boston at this point. it's just clear that he doesn't want to be here anymore, unless that changes he won't last much longer here.
