Has anyone else seen it?? I saw it today. I liked it up to the end. Stupid fucking end !!! It would have been alright, but there were too many holes in the script.

yeah i agree. That movie would have kicked a substantial amount of ass if it weren't for the ending. Twists like that bore the hell out of me... but at least they played Muse.

I heard it was gore-tastic, yes?
It really is. I haven't seen the cut version in the movies yet, but I have the unrated French dvd and it was pretty fucked up. Fans of "Last House on the Left" and "I Spit On Your Grave" will enjoy it.

The trailer was great but I don't think I'm going to be able to find it where I am, what happens at the end?
OK - I'll bite, but from here on is SPOILER CENTRAL
Do not read on. If you want to watch the movie, stop now.
SPOILERS !!!!
The short haired chick is the killer. There is no man killing the family and kidnapping the daughter(her friend). It is in her head. She basically slaughters the family and kidnaps the daughter(her friend).

I loved it. It's not just your average slasher movie. The dubbing from French was unnecessary and kind of poorly done, but still, the film was excellent and the gore make up courtesy of Giannetto De Rossi (Zombi 2) was unbelievable. It was really nice to see director Alexandre Aja giving us a true horror film amidst the recent slew of Hollywood remakes and all that other shit being categorized as "horror".
Very highly recommended, although the ending was unnecessary.

All I have to say about this film is that Dean Koontz better not see this film because other than the lesbian themes that are scattered around this film and the end, this movie is an exact copy of Mr. Koontz's book Intensity and if I was Dean I would sue his ass.
If you want to go for any reason to see this movie, go for the gore because this movie displays some of the most brutal gore shown in a realistic fashion that I have seen in a while, other than that, don't waste your time. Go see 'Land of the Dead' instead, promote a filmmaker who actually has original ideas.
hey, do you guys think this movie was a homage to dean koontz's intensity? they had startlingly similar plots

I seriously doubt the movie was an 'homage'. An 'homage' is when you take an older idea and ADD upon it, leaving only subtle hints of the similarities between what you are creating and something that has already been created. This was plaguarism (sp?) not an 'homage'.

i saw this over the weekend. it stunk. the gore was too-over-the top and the plot holes too gaping for me to actually ever forget it was a movie; ergo, it was very difficult to be frightened, grossed out, or even the least bit interested in the 3,957 gallons of red paint sprayed around during the film.
and, as previously suggested, the ending is about two steps above retarded.
