Most everybody in here has talent at writing as I've witnessed, and I was curious if anybody would be willing to write for MVN (the site in my sig)... if you're a fan of the following teams and you enjoy/would like to cover them on a weekly basis, email me a 250+ word dissertation on your team of choice... for instance, if you're a Broncos fan, write something on Rice coming back... if you're an Eagles fan, about how your team sucks etc...

Disclaimer: if you're a talented writer, you'll probably get the job... for now it's just a "fan" thing, but the site is already collecting money...
Also, be sure you'll be able to update at least once a week during the off-season (at least) and more than that during training camp/preseason/season yadda yadda... some of the writers I'm looking at replacing are pretty weak, so it won't take a whole lot to get the job... Green Habit, from what I've seen you write about the Broncs I can almost guarantee you'll get the job, and same goes for you and the Colts, Clubber... just write me a 2005 season preview and you'll be good to go
Sure does... care to write for a college football team? Michigan, Miami, Pitt, South Florida, Maryland and 'bama are the only teams covered right now... if you've got a team you'd like to write on, feel free to email me a submission

probably the only two things i think i'd be qualified to write on in the world is Oklahoma football and the Atlanta Braves. I'll try to come up with something, 250 words you say? is there a limit?

No limit... write what's on your mind... what you write me could be your first column if you'd like... since they're set with Braves writers, make it an Oklahoma entry and we'll get your Oklahoma site up and running
May I also add this for all interested: MVN is NFL accreditted -- this means that so long as you submit the correct way, you can get press passes to select NFL events which your team is involved in (and yes, this includes games). I'm sure if you contacted the AD of the school you cover (assuming you're writing college sports) they'll hook you up with some king of on-the-field deal...

Once again the Lions get left out. For shame! (I'm assuming there's already some desperate hardcore covering them.)
Depending on my living/employment in the next month or so I may be able to help you out with a college team. Where was this "free pass" thing during my previous 8 years at Michigan State? I want to be on the sidelines at Spartan Stadium.

Yep, we're set (for now) on Lions writers... but absolutely, whenever you feel like submitting a Michigan State football article to me I'll see what I can do for you

cool, by when do i have to hand my preview in? I graduated with a BA in journalism but haven't done any serious writing in like 5 years. I'll give it a shot though. Thanks for the opportunity.
just to clarify on style of writing, do you want opinion in there or just fact based?
example: The eagles already have six wins in the book because of their still-lowly divisional rivals, it's the other ten teams on the schedule that could hamper a return trip to the super bowl.

Just get it in sometime soon... there's no real deadline I guess, but I'd like to have it sometime today or tomorrow so we can get started on getting your website up and running

It's actually an opinion based website... folks are going to get the news from ESPN, if they make it to MVN they want more of a spin on the news, rather than just straight headlines... so basically everything you write we're wanting something of your own injected into it... and yes, that was a good start, even though I think you're delusional if you think the Eagles will sweep all 3 NFC East teams

Just to let you know, we have a couple Eagles writers lined up, so this is the only position that I might be kind of critical on the writing

I just sent you a quarterbacks preview. I think I could easily take care of the rest of the dead time between now and training camp by previewing the rest of the eight major positional areas.
