Don't know of anyone cares but going into today there are 272 players left in the world series of poker and Raymer (2004 winner) is in 2nd place. incredible.

I just got word that there are 188 players left and Raymer is in 1st with a million in chips. This would be the most incredible feat in the history of poker if he pulls of back to back wins with over 5,000 people entered

That is just insane. It was impressive what some of the more famous players did in the past, but if Raymer can take it two years in a row considering how large the fields are, well shit. The guy is either the smartest guy in the world or the luckiest.

Probably a lot of both. From what i read Raymer is the real deal. The last i time i went to Foxwoods a lot of the dealers there said that Raymer is one of the better players that plays there.

Way to go, Raymer.

The only time I've watched an entire game with him at the table was the Tournament of Champions, and while he started off very strong at the beginning, he got torn apart in the middle.

I can't wait to see the whole thing. Thanks for the update, Clubber.

I love watching those ESPN WSOP commericials knowing half of the players they feature were knocked out the first day. I don't think Negraneau made a final table the entire tournament.

Here are the top 15 chip leaders after day 3

Notice Phil Ivey atop the leaders. I'd put some loot on him to win it if i can find a bookie who had odds on that.

Brad Kondracki Kingston, PA $962,500
Johnny Howard Lexington Park, MD $910,500
Bob Larsen Milwaukee, WI $796,500
Tim Phan Westminster $746,000
Phil Ivey Las Vegas, NV $722,500
Steve Marx Bellevue, WA $679,500
S Bartholomew London, UK $659,000
Gabe Wells Indianapolis, IN $655,500
Bryan Stelbuger Huntington, NY $648,500
Oskar Silow Goteborg, Sweden $638,000

Yeah, I like Phil Ivey as well--he's overdue for a serious run.

I like Ivey too, I hope either Ivey or Raymer wins. Is Harrington still alive, that would be pretty impressive if he could make the final table again.

I know Hanson is out, not sure about Seidel. That Ivey bet looks great right now. You are one lucky bastard
