Aside from seeing Maria Sharapova look hot, the ESPYs are the worst excuse for an awards show on Earth. Discuss.

Why did they announce a bunch of winners on Sportscenter days before airing the award show??

Lunacy!!

The only thing the ESPYs ever had going for it was that it was held the day after the all star game when there is no professional sports being played. Now they've moved it to Sunday and wasted the opportunity to show a baseball game. Fuck them.

I was just annoyed they moved the Yankees/Sox game to a 6 pm start just so it could serve as a lead in to their retarded "awards" show. I think its time for the Espy's AND the MTV VMA's and Movie Awards to just call it quits. Real award shows are having enough struggles to get viewers, so god only knows how bad the fake ones are doing.

I was glad the game was moved up to 6PM.

As for awards shows, they are all stupid

if anything, because the Yanks had to travel to Texas for tonight, the game should have been a 1:00 start.

but regarding the ESPY's, just add it to the list of lame ESPN programming.

Exactly. They have to travel half way across the country, why couldn't it just have been a 1pm start?

I stopped paying attention when they made it a parody of the VMA's. It used to be good, now it's the typical bad comedy, predictable awards, sappy tributes and a whole lot of ass kissing.

Unfortunately they've got a monopoly on the business, and until somebody unbelievably rich decides to doll out some money to overtake them, they're going to continue being the MTV of the sports world.

I'm starting to get into the Rangers a little bit... I watched most of their games against the A's on FSN over the weekend and they were all pretty exciting... 1 question though - why does Cordero keep getting the nod in the late innings when he always seems to make things as close as possible while still getting the save? He's going to give me a heart attack.

freakin cordero is having a tendency this year to make the 9th inning very entertaining. unfortunately though the rangers best 2 other bullpen arms all went down to tommy john surgery earlier this season.

No reason to discuss. You said everything that needs to be said very well. I pretty much can't stand to watch any "awards" shows. :x
