I wanted to tell him that he was my favorite cast member, but I was so shocked at how horrible he looked that all I say was "thank you Mr Doohan".
He must have known I wanted to say more, because he got that "Scotty gleam" in his eye and kissed my hand.

My mother was at one of his final conventions in Las Vegas (2002 or 2003). She purchased a pic that was genuinely signed by DeForest Kelley beforehand and eventually got it signed by the entire cast. She said he was a nice man, unlike some members of the cast. The value of that pic just jumped by a few hundred dollars .

i got so sick of people saying "beam me up!" all through my school days. i hated this guy and i didnt even know who he was.
