what did everyone think of the last episode? specifically the last 10 minutes of it...

i really enjoyed the whole spiritual twist on the end. moulder's want for something beyond what he always believed to be the ultimate truth. i thought this was well handled and dont get why most people thought it was lacking.

also, after the show ended wearnt there rumors of films that would explain further what the entire ending was about? or were they just that: rumors.

...?

I thought this show ended years ago. I never made an effort to tune in every week but I always watched if it was about to be on, it was a really great show. Except for the fact that Chris Carter ripped off David Lynch's Twin Peak series.

I loved the series from day one till it ended..and the ending included..I thought (just like you) that it was beatifully handled...the way Mulder explains his "new truth" to Scully in a hotel room just like the way he did nine years ago was very emotional...
I heard that the new movie is almosta a fact right now...though I´m not sure where I read it

nope..that´s an episode from the 7th season which was going to be the last season with Mulder in all the episodes so they wanted to give closure to some of the mysteries going around the whole seasons
It´s a two part episode..that one is called "Closure" but I don´t remember the name of part one (I think it´s "Sein und Zeit)

They should have ended the show once Mulder faded out from being an every episode character. I thought the show was great for a good 6-7 seasons, but dropped off dramatically at the end. The plots became overly absurd and twisted.

No. I'm not sure why discussion of the finale would come up now. What did you think of the last Cheers?

It didn't hold a candle to MASH, Mary Tyler Moore, and my personal favorite, Newhart. That ending was just brilliant.

well this episode is the reason i stopped watching the show. the whole time t was about his sister being abducted by aliens, than all of a sudden she's walking into the woods as some sort of spirit, what the fuck? i wanna see some aliens, not this queer spiritual bullshit.

They run X-Files eps on TNT every night from 1-6am. The series finale was on last night, followed by the Pilot (restarting the loop).

Mulder is in federal custody, on "trial" for some trumped up charge. But the trial really serves to rehash and summarize everything that happened throughout the 9 seasons, conspiracy-wise.

The last rumor about the movie came about a month ago. Duchovny said he'd talked to Chris Carter about a script for a 2nd flick and that Carter was at work on it. Filming could potentially start next Spring.

Old enough to know that the few hour long episodes leading up to the Cheers finale were far more entertaining than the series last episode was.

any new movie will have nothing to do with the show. it will be a new 2 hour story, not a continuation of the series long story. i would put my money on something especially spooky. i think they're looking to cash in on the recent success of movies like the ring and the grudge. oh, and those first two sentences are fact, if you believe chris carter or double d.
