im sitting here watching american pie 2 on usa and i just dont understand why they would think it was a good idea to have this movie on tv, half the movie is gone. but they do this with tons of movies that they shouldnt.
no real point to this, its just on my mind while watching

I've always thought that if the best parts of a movie are things you can't include on a TV broadcast, you shouldn't put it on TV.

i'm still laughing my ass off jason, but thats because i know all the words, so i just substitute them in whenever they cut them out. :D

youre right though, i'll think i know a movie from watching it on tv, then if i buy the dvd later and watch it, i cant believe how much i missed.

i find it amusing, especially when the big lebowski was on comedy central,
instead of having john goodman tell the kid
"see what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass?"
they overdub it with
"see what happens when you find a stranger in the alps?"

truly priceless.

It screws the movie up big time in my opinion. Plus, I will not ever watch a movie I haven't seen on a national network. Cause commercial break the entire flow of the movie and of course majority of the times the film has been edited for television. :x

TNT did ok with "Saving Private Ryan" but they should have aired it commercial free. NBC did a great job with "Schindler's List" when they aired it unedited and commercial free in the mid 1990's. It had a sponsor but I'm almost positive it was aired commercial free if my memory serves me correctly. Anyone else remember this?

i agree that its still funny, but they dont just cut out words, they cut out whole scenes, if i remember right the party at stifflers in the beginning was a pretty long part of the movie, and on usa the whole thing was like 3 to 5 minutes. but its just confusing that they would decide to use a movie that has to be cut to much.

but for some movies like the big lebowski that was mentioned, they are such good movies that they can take on a whole new life when edited, i love both versions of lebowski :P

Pulp Fiction is very amusing to watch on tv. Half the bloody time they're mouthing words on screen and nothing comes out.

Charlotte, sometimes an edited movie is better than the rest of the shit that is on tv at that moment.

Just tried watching this earlier on Bravo and it was impossible. If you're going to completely butcher the movie then why even bother?

I like how "Fuck you!" usually becomes "Forget you!"
