im pissed because i have waited forever to decide to get this game because i was going to see if it became a greatest hit so i wouldnt have to pay 50 bucks, well after watching a few people play it recently i finnaly decided that i needed to go ahead and buy it even if it is still 50 bucks. so ive heard they raised the rating and stores like wall mart and taget werent going to sell it anymore, but i figured videogame stores would still have it, but no, they have pulled it also, i can get it on ebay i guess, but i had figured i would have it today and play for a while this afternoon so im agrivated that i dont get to.
does anyone know of anywhere besides ebay that i might be able to find it?

this whole rating changing business is a load of hooey. i saw some mother on the news talking about how she let her kids play it because it was 'just a videogame so how bad could it be?' well guess what, mom, IT SAYS ITS RATED MATURE! it even goes into detail on the back of the box... drug content, sexual content, adult language, etc. what the fuck did you think was going to be in the game.

the lady then proceeded to say how the content of this game was worse than 'any movies out there.' no. no. no.

if you are a parent, understand it is YOUR FUCKING RESPONSIBILITY to monitor what your kids are doing. as we speak, a bunch of politicians are trying to come up with ways to ban violent games altogether.

well said, i dont see why the game is not still for sale, all they need to do is make it so you have to be of age, but anyway i won an auction on ebay for it a little bit ago, so hopefully it will be in good shape, and get here soon.

I find the whole ratings change quite funny. Before you could pay to have sex with a hooker, then murder her and get your money back. Or you could take a chainsaw into a police station and kill all the officers. But now that there is simulated sex, fuck, this game is only for adults. Fire bombing a mall is mature, simulated sex is adults only.

Yeah, it was actually cut out of the game, but they never removed the actual code. So some people hacked it, and now you can access it in the computer version and XBOX version by downloading a program. I don't think you can do it with the PS2 version unless you have a harddrive.

so you cant actually do it but they still pulled it, what else are they gonna take out of it before rereleasing it do you think?

I think that is all they are cutting out, and because you really can't access it anyway, nothing will be missing from your copy.

You needed to download a seperate program to even access it, not even a gameshark or something like that could get to it. You couldn't do it on the PS2 because there is no way to install such software; maybe you could do it with your PS2 disc in the compute, I don't know. It worked on the PC and XBox versions.

It really wasn't that bad, the people were fully clothed in the scenes so it just looked really stupid. There was already parts of the game where you could pick up a hooker, park your car and watch it rock back and forth faster and faster as they had sex, while your money was depleted. That has been in the game since GTA3, and no one said much about it.

It wasn't like it was put there as part of the game, the game had been out for almost a year before anyone was able to find it.

What gets my goat is that it's a game about how many people you can kill and rob, and although it's been out a year, parents are just now getting their panties in a wad because of some stupid animated dry-humping that only the most hardcore game-geek is going to find in the first place (no offence intended to any monitoring game-geeks, btw). This is just the kind of typical slow news day bullshit that the media cooks up b/c GTA has become such a cultural buzzword for "bad for children". Not that the game isn't rated Mature right on the friggin' box!

My boyfriend has this game. I think it's stupid, but whatever. My kids aren't allowed to play it and he can't play it until they go to bed.

The ratings are pretty simple - M=Mature, so they can't play those games.

its quite possibly my favorite game ever for ps2..its so complete, good story, so much to do, so many places to go..shit, sometimes i like to take a motorcycle and just drive around through the desert or in the boonies and just shit around..

one random thought..kids shouldnt play it..thats obvious..but unfortunately they do..in a kids defense..i once read an article by ice t..saying he wasnt allowed to watch tv because his parents thougth it was too violent..so what did he do....go out and join a gang..in short, sometimes its better that kids are killing people on video games than actually doing it in real life..

i kinda think that if a kid has 1/10000 of common sense in his brain he wont let the killing cross over into real life..and if he does kill because he saw it in a game, hes that fucked up that hed kill anyway..its just sometin else in the environment would set him off..

What's dumb is that at work (Blockbuster) we even had to pull the strategy guides for GTA off the shelves. All of this for a stupid hack. Hell, they could probably pull the Sims off the shelves because you can hack into it and make the people naked.

I read about this somewhere. The sims are rated Teen, yet you can watch them shower and they have the command "Play In Bed" as an option (where they get under the covers and roll around with some very loud giggling, after which a baby is delivered to your house). All this with no hacks.

The code to make the people naked in the sims is BUILT INTO THE GAME. There is no need for an extra program or 9 months of hacking; all you have to do is pull up the cheats diolague box and enter a code (I forget what it is).

Yes, it's bullshit...but the Sims wouldn't get the same level of press that GTA gets, thus no wacky ratings.

These days the news business is as bent as any other form of media.

i dont think nudity bothers anyone as far is it being pulled off the shelves because i was playing "god of war" today and they have nudity with out even having to put in a code. it seems they they only care that there is a possibility of a kid seeing a sex act or somehitng, but its still stupid for the main reason that it was rated mature and shouldnt have been sold to kids anyway
