I'm sure I can think of a lot better ones later, but this one struck me as funny and polarizing.
TV:
Best: Hallelujah (Jeff Buckley), OC Season 1 Finale
Worst: Hallelujah (Jeff Buckley), The West Wing Season 3 Finale
The OC one was about as sad as that show has ever been, while The West Wing one drowned out the diolague as some important events transpired, and in a show that never used background music, it came at a very strange time.

For the first few episodes of "Third Watch" it seemed the soundtrack was done exclusively by fatboy slim. It was awesome ('specially since singing the missing lyrics to 'fatboy slim is fucking in heaven' pissed my mom off), but it kinda faded out through the first season.
Along with my interest. Connection? Maybe. Hmmmm.
- singing in the rain - a clockwork orange
- the kill bill vol. 1 soundtrack (practically any soundtrack for a tarantino movie will do)
- all along the watchtower and american woman- american beauty, in one of the scenes where kevin spacey is working out, and a scene where he's driving, respectively
- tiny dancer - almost famous
not so cool:
free fallin - jerry maguire, kinda seems forced to me. i don't like it much.

best - the use of the geto boys in office space
That was awesome! I don't think I would have thought of that one straight away. Good call!

Okay, I'm lame for not knowing the song title, but..
a good ones: that surf song that's playing when vincent vega is driving in his convertible after doing heroin.
Not lame, I only know this title because I have the soundtrack: The Centurions doing "Bullwinkle Pt. II."
I don't know exactly what my favorite is, but what came to mind right away was "Stuck in the Middle With You" by Steelers Wheel from Reservoir Dogs. Michael Madson was great in that scene, and it was memorable!
Rafe, another good call with "Singin' in the Rain"! That's one that came right to mind too, from both Singin' in the Rain and A Clockwork Orange.
Also, the use of The Mamas and the Papas' "California Dreamin'" - over and over again - from Chungking Express.
Hmmm, I'll think of better ones later.

Worst - My heart will go on (Céline Dion) in Titanic... although this movie is horrible anyway, that song just takes it to another level.
