This is from their website: notice the redundancy of the answers. I thought these "beautiful people" were supposed to be smart too?

What is BeautifulPeople.net?
BeautifulPeople.net is an online community whose purpose is to create relationships, both private and professional, between people who because of their attractive appearance and personal qualities stand out from the majority.
Why BeautifulPeople.net?
BeautifulPeople.net is an elite online members' club, which introduces beautiful people to truly beautiful people. It is a meeting place which is reserved for people, who because of their attractive appearance and personal qualities, stand out from the majority.
It is a place where attractive people can mingle and create personal or professional related acquaintances across age, gender, job and social status.
The decision to allow you to enter our exclusive club lies with our members; who are given the chance to rate all new applications during a three day rating process. The majority vote is final.
We are proud to be the first online community in which existing members decide whether or not a new applicant should be accepted through our revolutionary rating technology. Once you have uploaded your profile, you will be rated by existing members of the opposite sex over a three day period. They will judge whether your picture and profile are deemed attractive enough to grant you coveted access.
While you are awaiting the rating verdict, you may browse members' profiles and mail them; this might improve your chances of getting accepted.
You will notice that all the members in BeautifulPeople.net are exactly that: beautiful.
Why BeautifulPeople.net?
The initiative behind BeautifulPeople.net is derived from an individuals increasing need for an easier more focused way of seeking and finding likeminded people of a similar social standing and physical appearance.
The average on-line user spends most of their time, filtering out and having unsuccessful mail correspondence with people who are far from their ideal match. This is a result of too many online mainstream communities, which target all demographics of people. BeautifulPeople.net being a niche site and catering exclusively to attractive and successful people eliminates this problem.
Article about it:
Quote:
'Beautiful' Web site is only skin deep By Olivia Barker, USA TODAY Entry into BeautifulPeople.net is all in the eye of the beholders.
Officially launching Thursday, the networking site is the electronic equivalent of the junior high cafeteria, with the popular kids — i.e., members — voting on whether to offer seats to the hopeful hordes. Which means that unlike other online communities such as Friendster and Thefacebook, BeautifulPeople functions more like an invitation-only social club. (Related item: Check out BeautifulPeople.net)
The criteria are shamelessly superficial: a recent photograph (bikinis and bare biceps encouraged) and body statistics. Is your six-pack more of a two-pack? The site also accepts "people with personal/professional qualities that stand out from the majority" — like "Sandhill," an entrepreneur with a goofy grin who says his income is $1 million-plus.
An applicant's photo and profile is posted for three days. Members grade candidates of the opposite sex (to avoid Mean Girls-style competition) on a four-point attractiveness scale, from "Yes! Certainly!!" to — ouch — "No! Not at all!"
Honest or horrifying, it's Mensa for the Chiclet-smile set.
"BeautifulPeople is the most genuine of all sites," says Robert Hintze, who started the cybercommunity in 2002 in his native Denmark and brought it to Britain in April. Today's culture is appearance-driven anyway, so "why not make a place for all these people so focused on looks?"
On the surface, "you go, 'Oh, this is so lame.' But in some ways it is a great marketing opportunity," says Charlene Li, principal analyst at Forrester Research, a technology/market research company. Whether you're actually beautiful is beside the point, Li says; it's more about attitude. "Frankly, if you're a (legitimately) beautiful person, I'm not sure you want to be exposed in this way."
Discrimination against the ugly was made famous by HotOrNot.com, where visitors scroll through photos of would-be Bo Dereks and assign scores of 1 to a perfect 10.
"We're getting people through that first hurdle," says BeautifulPeople managing director Greg Hodge.
Matchmakers at eHarmony.com, where a personality profile trumps a literal profile, aren't so sure that initial screening is necessary. "We have found that the inside is oftentimes more beautiful than the outside," spokeswoman Marylyn Warren says.
Hodge insists theirs is a democratic system. Because members decide who makes the cut, not some burly guy behind a velvet rope, "we're giving power back to the people."
But if at first you don't succeed, cap those teeth, inflate those breasts and try, try, try again — as many as 50 times, the number it took for one Danish woman to be deemed worthy. After three years of working out, her body got "really good-looking," Hintze says.
I am so tempted to apply...it would be a fascinating experiment; though I bet my eyebrow rings would disqualify me immediately.

This is no joke, I don't post fake stories like some people .
I saw this on the news this AM (CBS) and then the article is from USA Today.
This thing started in Denmark, so we can't even blame a shallow, brainwashed American mind for this one.
Check my links...esp the beautifulpeople.net website...it is really weird.

THis is a great thing. I am by no means beautiful- and I am picky and judgemental.
i can only imagine how hard a time beautiful people having in meeting people up to their standards.
if i only liked red heads, i would love a service that only had red heads.. so why should beautiful be different than any other physical trait that people like?

What's the problem? More attractive couples = more attractive babies.
It's almost as though people think that this website is going to prevent ugly people from fucking attractive ones. Wait..
but you have to wonder...if they are all so attractive, why cant they find dates?
When you approach women at bars or parties or anywhere else, do you ever go for the hottest one in the room? I think most guys are a little intimidated, and you'd be surprised to find out that a lot of really beautiful girls don't date much because guys don't ask them out.

yeah, you sound like the hot chicks trying to sound "down to earth" on TV shows.
thats a load of crap. they may not get hit on at the bar, but the do at work, at the store, walking the sidewalk, etc. The beautiful women just say that on tv to make themselves appear more attainable- therfore more "marketable"

They also say it in real life because it's true.
Maybe in High School its true.
The truely hot chicks are harrassed, tormented and hit on everywhere they go. they "i sit at home all the time because no one asks me out" thing is just total nonsense. its more like "No one attractive asks me out, so i would rather stay home then deal with these trolls"
Watch even a marginally hot girl in your place of work (especially retail, where its customers and coworkers), or when you go to the grocery for an hour. The beautiful women are constanly being hit on and asked out.

Why don't we just ask PJDoll if she gets hit on a lot and be done with it? Hmmm?

cuz beauty is subjective
so is a nice personality, a nice smile, or being a good person

Apparently, the ability to design an attractive website is not a prerequisite.

That's because you're using the ugly Netscape browser, you must use the beautiful IE browser.
The pictures of the "10 Most Popular Members" still look smashed and pixelated. Beautiful people aren't smart enough to use the Resampling feature.
