The paper says the Mariners are going to call up King Felix today.

I had no idea where else to post this, but it's news when the #1 prospect in the game hits the bigs.

are you banging your head against the wall with this news?

i don't really understand it, as he just came back from injury and has made only one start, 4 innings since his return. don't expect more than 5 innings thursday.

I'm hoping for a Dave Dravecky incident.

and the brave i'll be glad to see is chuck james. he has a six to one k/bb with a 2.25 in double a right now, and apparently is nasty on left handers. i'd be surprised if he doesn't make the postseason roster.

how old is he....like 19? I would think it would make more sense to keep in him AAA for the rest of the season. The sooner you bring him up, the sooner he earns enough service time to be a FA. This is obvioulsy far into the future, but it should be a consideration.

You should really rename this thread the "Colorado Rockies". They had 6 rookies and 2 second year players starting yesterday.

Homerism has nothing to do with where you live

hoping the dodgers call up a few more guys in sept.

Broxton has hit 101 on the gun more than a few times and hopefully can replace god awful yhency next year as Gagne's set up man.

Dioner Navarro hopefully can actually throw base stealers out. lord knows Phillips and mike rose are on piazza-like levels of failure in that dept.

Who has better #'s this year Barmes or Francoouauoeiuoeueuaoueoeoueua?

Matt Holliday is going to be a nice power hitter.

I see where the Rox are saying next years payroll is going to be at 40 million....bet the fans are loving that, waving the white flag for next year already in the worst division of baseball....

Matt Holliday is going to be a nice power hitter.

rate stats, probably francoeur, which is indeed a ridiculous name.

but when you throw in boyer, marte, betemit, langerhans, johnson, mcbride, davies, colon, orr, pena, mccann and whoever else comes up the braves have to have an advantage.

as for holliday, i doubt he'll ever be very good away from coors field.

I don't think Holliday is going anywhere so he will be playing at Coors Field for time to come. Also, Holliday is a big dude. I think he is going to be a nice power hitter for years to come.

Add in the fact that Helton and Jason Jennings are going to be around 21 of that 40 million. Yeah the fans are pissed. I think they have a good handful of young players.

The oufield Holliday, Mohr,Hawpe or Sullivan is going to be fun to watch the next few years. Miles at 2nd and Barmes at SS are going to be all-stars in a few years. Garrett Atkins has been having a productive year at 3rd. The kid who is playing 1st base for Helton right now, Shealy, is a monster. He's huge. Either the rockies are going to trade Helton or trade Shealy.

Now the pitching is another story...

The Rockies will never have prolonged success.
