That makes sense that Baltimore and Washington are now one city.
Washington DC is a terrible place.

Yes, but I was talking more towards our RM friends from those states who root for teams from NYC and Dallas and universities in Texas. They know who they are. 8)

50. Auburn, Ala.

Is this real?

I love Auburn, but #50 is a stretch. It is just a college town. I wouldn't even call it a city. It's a town.

Did anyone notice that Tampa-St. Petersburg was dead last at #388? Even worse than Yakima and the Tri-Cities????

*article loses credibility*

College towns are awesome though. Football season in Blacksburg is unreal.

No shit. Last I checked the Lightning were defending Cup champs, the Bucs have been competitive for years, and the Super Bowl comes through pretty frequently.

Auburn is a lovely city(town). Both the city and campus. Auburn home football games are simply amazing!

Wow, I would think a city would have to win a championship in something in the last 20 years to get so high on the list. I guess 2nd place is fitting though isn't it?

You don't have to have a championship to have good fans. Likewise, championships do not make great sports cities (though they should help).

I think St. Louis is too low, definitely should be ahead of Miami, and if it had an NBA team I'd say #3. Also Chicago should be close to top 5.

I see top 5 thusly:

1. Boston 2. Philly 3. St. Louis 4. Chicago 5. New York

Minneapolis should be top 10, at least they're close.
