Why won't Congress investigate whether or not George Dub and his band of felons lied to get us into this war? No problem rushing to investigate Palmiero....wtf????

I think it's obvious enough to everyone now that blatant lies were used to garner support for the Iraqi War and to deceive the public. But what do you want Congress to do? We are in that war, we can't get out, so they say. It's like that child metaphor I've used in the past. The child cannot be aborted now, once created or birthed, like the Iraq War you have to see it through. Regardless of the loss of life and treasure that occurs.
Maybe when 58,000 Americans die and trillions are spent and the American public wakes the fuck up from it's universal apathy to pay attention to matters of war we'll see some change. Maybe. Until then soldiers will continue dying each day.
It's the most impeachable offenses I've seen in my lifetime. But when you dominate all branches of government checks and balances go right out the window.
This is not a democracy...
I personally would get out now if I were in power. What happened when we retreated outta Vietnam? It was the right move to make. We'd caused enough suffering and damage in and to that country. Very similar to what we are doing now. But this Administration knew that once it got us in, that it'd be just about impossible to get us out. Just look at all the Presidents who kept the Vietnam war going so not to be the first President to lose an unwinnable war. Look how many lives were lost each year. It was a disgusting mess that continued for what to save face. Bunch of macho bullshit that cost millions of lives and billions in treasure.

Personally I think Bu$h's domestic policy is more inexcusable. I marched against the Iraq war, but, I just think "Saddam Hussein is an evil dictator" is a better excuse than "Me having more billions is more important than a doctor saving your life"

Oh, I love you IEB, I smiled through the whole read. You should call up Howard Dean. I'd be willing to bet they'd have a place for you as a speech writer.
But seriously, how can you say that it's not a democracy? Okay, it is a representive democracy. I hate to tell you guys this, but president was just voted into office...again. I know, it's sad, it's tragic, but thems the breaks. And I hate to tell you this, but the American people voted for more Republicans to represent this republic in November. They also voted for more Republican governors.
No offense, but a democracy doesn't turn into fascism just because you don't like the way things are going for you. Stop pouting. This is the type of attitude that has led your side to lose elections over the past twenty years. And you just can't figure that out.
I'll be truthful. It's not that the vast majority of American's love Republicans. It's just that most, like me, are more scared of Democrats running the show than people like Bush, and asshats like Delay.
I've been reiterating this since before the election too: The Republicans will win the next presidency, and will continue to gain seats in the house, and inside state mansions. And whether you like it or not, that's just the way this Democracy is going...

I don't mind the space shuttle news, but I'm tired of them touting pulling a piece of fabric off of it as an "unprecidented space walk." Fuck, you'd think the astronauts were building a new shuttle out of their fingernail clippings.

to be fair to NASA: they are VERY concerned about getting their astronauts home safely, and while the repairs were not as dramatic as say the Apollo mission repairs, it still was a big fucking deal to NASA.
You don't think those engineers are losing a whole lot of sleep wondering if their designs will kill more people?

I'dve been shitting myself from day one of the mission. And I'm clear that the repair needed done. But "unprecidented"?
How about, "Shuttle experts are concerned about this piece of fabric, but one of the astronauts will go pull it out, and the experts are certain that will address any airflow concerns." Done. No extravagant drama. No, "Holy shit! They're going UNDER the shuttle!!!!"

It doesn't matter who I vote for, Libby Dole will win.
And she'll keep writing me patronizing responses to my letters.
