Today I deleted all the Pearl Jam from my mp3 player and computer. I'm going to try and go until Sept 11 without listening to any of their music in preparation for the 3 shows I'll be seeing in Sept. I think it will make the shows much better for me.
I want to try and forget how Corduroy goes.

I'll be undergoing the same process on August 11th. One month before the first show.

And I just got a leak of the new album.
Just kidding, good luck though. I have tried to do this before and have failed. I flip through my cd book at work and usually play at least half a PJ show just out of habit.

I'm not going to listen to PJ anymore either. In fact, I think I might just skip the upcoming concerts that I have tix to.

I haven't listed to Pearl Jam for the past 8 months!

I believe geg is doing the same thing, in anticipation of the 2025 Farewell tour.

I never understand the need to do this. Why deprive yourself of something you enjoy? That's like saying I'm going to be getting laid next month so I'm going to not have sex until then. That's a whole month of good sex you are missing out on!

Seriously, I listen the hell out of Pearl Jam when I'm anticipating a live show. The only non-listening I do, is that I hide myself from new material prior to the release of an album.

I think I'm only bringing PJ CD's with me when I make the Seattle to George to Vancouver trip here in a couple weeks.

This is good. I do it before every concert run I go on. It's going to be tough seeing them in Montana and then waiting until 9/11 to see them again...I...think...I...can...make...it...

Ugh.
This idea is ridiculous.
Next time I go to a baseball game, I'm going to completely void myself of anything baseball related for a month leading up to the game. I don't want to know anything about the guy who's pitching for either team, and I don't want to know who the power hitters are, or who I should make sure I don't skip an at-bat for a bathroom break. I'm also going to try to forget as many of the rules of the game as possible. Why the hell would I want to know what's going on out there?
as soon as i start getting really excited about a show, i go on a binge listening spree of whichever band it is. even if its like some dumb pop punk show, i like to get in the mode for the show. for PJ, forget about it...as soon as i have tickets........oh man....however, immediately after the show i usually have to listen to something else. cuz ive just listened to PJ nonstop for the last month or two.
you just never want to be the guy playing the album of the band youre seeing in the parking lot. everybody pities that fool. gotta change cds when you get close. i mean nothing says loser quite as much as that i think.
