I'm a Tkd practitioner.

Are you ITF or WTF?

I've been training now for about 12 years, had a break of about two and a half years and started back last october.

I'm a 1st Dan at the moment, hopefully I'ill be taking my 2nd Dan grading in March '06.

My brother also trains and was a member of the England junior team, he represented them in Bulgaria for the 2004 European championships, Malaysia for the 2004 World Championships and in Dublin for the 2005 European championships.

How is your reverse turning kick normally?
How bad is your ankle?

When I was going through my colour belt gradings and when it came to destruction I made sure my measure was perfect, I measured quite slowly held my foot up for a couple of seconds to show I could do the technique, then when it came to break just went for it hell for leather. I wasn't bothered whether I'd hurt myself or not as long as I broke.

I'm in the RITA (Republic of Ireland) and ITF.
I've been at it for three years, but i had to take a break for about three months for my exams, so i've only been back training for about a month and a half.
On my good leg I can break 2 inches with rtk, but my bad leg is pretty poor. I managed to take a big lump of skin off my heel (not my ankle, be thankful I'm not a doctor  ). The grading's in two weeks and I don't know if it'll be healed by then. Will they let me break with the good leg dya reckon??
Normally injuries are the last thing in my mind when breaking...i just focus on kicking the shit out of whatever i have to break - i have a very destructive nature!!

Right, who is grading you? Is it your instructor or a Master?

I'd have a word with your instructor beforehand about not being able to break with you bad leg due to an injury, they might then ask you to just demonstrate the technique with the injured leg and then ask you to break with a few more techniques (Possibly a hand technique) Or even ask you to do 2 1/2 - 3 inches on your better leg.

Don't take that as gospel, but I'd advise speaking to your instructor about it first.
