"Survivor: Guatemala" Cast Revealed By Julie Keller, Thu Aug 11, 6:26 PM ET
The creators of Survivor have tossed an ex-pro footballer into the mix for the 11th edition of the hit CBS reality series.
Gary Hogeboom, the one-time Dallas Cowboys quarterback, is one of 16 new contestants vying for a $1 million payoff in Survivor: Guatemala, where players are pitted against each other amid ancient Mayan ruins in the jungles of Central America.
But dont expect the ex-baller, who is now a real estate developer in Michigan, to get preferential treatment or even capitalize on his famous name, just in case he isn't deemed worthy of a big payoff.
"I don't want to go by my last name on the show," Hogeboom said on CBS's Early Show Thursday, "People would vote me off immediately if someone knew I was in the NFL. Everyone thinks we made big money. I was pre-big money."
The rest of the cast is once again rounded out by an interesting mix of characters. Among the oddly matched adventurers are a magician's assistant, two Ivy League grads, a makeup artist, a fishmonger, a zookeeper, a farmer and more.
Show creator Mark Burnett says this year's contestants will face triple-digit heat, crocodile infested waters, relentless mosquitoes and terrifying sounds of the howler monkeys. The first episode will feature an 11-mile, overnight hike through the jungle, as well as two additional (and yet-to-be-revealed) surprises in the first episode that will dramatically impact how they play the game.
Here's a quick rundown of who will try to outwit, outlast and outplay:
Brandon Bellinger, 22, farmer/rancher from Manhattan, Kansas Danni Boatwright, 30, a sports radio talk show host from Tonganoxie, Kansas Margaret Bobonich, 43, a family nurse practitioner from Chardon, Ohio Brian Corridan, 22, an Ivy League student from New York City Cindy Hall, 31, a zookeeper from Naples, Florida Gary Hogeboom, 36, an ex-NFL quarterback and real estate developer from Grand Haven, Michigan Rafe Judkins, 22, another Ivy Leaguer from Providence, Rhode Island Jim Lynch, 63, a retired fire captain from Northglenn, Colorado Morgan McDevitt, 21, a magicians assistant and waitress from Decatur, Illinois Lydia Morales, 42, a fishmonger from Lakewood, Washington Jamie Newton, 24, a water ski instructor from Hollywood, California Amy OHara, 39, a police sergeant from Revere, Massachusetts Judd Sergeant, 34, a hotel doorman from Ridgefield, N.J. Brooke Struck, 26, a law student from Santa Monica, California Blake Towsley, 24, a commercial real estate broker and model from Dallas, Texas Brianna Varela, 21, a makeup artist and retail salesperson
In other Survivor news, fans pining for a taste of Survivors previous seasons can finally get their wish. OLN, the outdoor network, has acquired syndication rights to the first 10 seasons of Survivor. The drama of Sue, Kelly and perennially naked Richard Hatch is airing now. Season one's finale episode will air Thursday at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.
The 11th edition of the Emmy Award-winning series debuts Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. on CBS.

I already like Judd. But I will be masturbating to Morgan and Briana.

Did anyone else notice that there is only one first name thats starts with a letter after M. Thats pretty weird.
Anywho, all of the younger females are pretty hot. This should be a good season
I think brooke is the cutest when you look at their larger pictures. and there are no cute guys.. what's the deal? no hot guatamalan hookups? sheesh.
the contestants on these shows are picked for a variety of reasons, but for the men, looks generally isn't the biggest factor. Not like for women, anyway. They're really looking for people that will clash more than anything. Women are much cattier, so having a couple of attractive females will more likely than not stir up the pot.
