So I have pick Number 12 in our 12 man league. Since I'm pick 12 I get two picks back to back, you may know that already. Now I was thinking, pick up a running back and a top 3 wide out for my first two picks. I have been doing that the last two years and have did well, but still no championship. I figured I'd pick 2 running backs this time, but not just any two. I'm thinking Kevin and Julius Jones. What I'm hoping is, my friends will be so blinded with LT, Holmes, Davis, Mcghaee etc and leave those two power houses to me. You think it would work? By the time it gets back to me after those two picks, I will still have a nice Wide receiver core. I'm thinking Nate Burleson and Reggie Wayne will still be around. Think it will all work? Crossing my fingers

I was in a position very similar to yours (I was 11th out of 12) and do NOT take a wide receiver... take 2 RB's... I took Julius in the 1st round and seriously considered taking Kevin Jones in the 2nd round but I took Ahman instead. I'm serious though... Julius or no Julius, take 2 RB's back to back. They're that important.

It'll probably work though. Both of those guys were around when I wanted them, so maybe they'll be there for you.

Unless Peyton Manning is still available for some reason, take two RB's.

ive always taken 2rbs, 2 wrs, 1 qb in that order in the draft, but if i got one of the last 2 picks in the first round, i might take a good qb/wr combo. i won my league last year b/c i had muhammad and delhomme.

Personally, I love going RB/RB with my first 2 picks. Especially where you are in the draft...after you pick 12/13 players, you won't pick again untill 36/37. There's a LOT of picks in there, and alot will be feasting on RBs.

I would grab a RB at 12 and 13, and you can still get a good #1 WR at 36.

Good luck!

I pick #3, and am trying to decide between Priest Holmes and Willis McGahee. Holmes scares me because of injury and the increased usage of Lary Johnson, but his potential is hard to pass up. I like McGahee becasue he's the sole back in a run-heavy offense, but am scared that he might be slowed becasue of a rookie QB.

I would definitely NOT go with a WR that early in the draft. You can get somebody later on that will be just as productive. If I had picks #12 and #13, I'd definitely take at least 1 RB. With the other pick I'd either take Culpepper (if available) or another RB. I wouldn't even consider anything else.

I echo what everybody else has said. I would most likely take 2 RBs. I would not take a WR unless Moss was available. I wouldn't take a QB either unless Manning or Culpepper were available. If any of those 3 are left then I'd have to give them consideration depending on what RBs are available. It also depends on how your league scores. If you are in a yardage league then RBs are even more important.

That is cool to see, I am a little scared of Priest this year. I think D Davis will be a big performer. Not much respect for Curtis Martin ranked as the 18th RB.

It always depends on how many teams you have. I play in a 10 team league which always leaves a few guys out there to pick up, at 12 teams it thins out much more.

You see I don't know what I'm going to do. If Moss is available, I am going to think about taking him. Alright here is a lay out. This is if I took Moss what it might look like.
Kevin Jones
Randy Moss
Reggie Wayne
Fred Taylor or JJ Arington.........if I picked 2 rbs

Kevin Jones
Julius Jones
Nate Burleson
Donald Driver or maybe Reggie Wayne

thats my theory on willis..if losman is crap..that line is stacked..

i take my chances on priest..if healthy he is the most dominant player in ffl hands down
