Did any of you or will any of you name your babies an "unusual" name or name them after a hero or idol?

I've been thinking about the naming of my kids that I hope to have in the future. I have decided I am 100% sure, as long as it's okay with my wife, to name my first son "Mickey" after Mickey Mantle.

There's a lot more room for giving girls unusual names than boys.

You might as well name your son "kickmyass" if you're not gonna give him a normal name.

I'm going with either Wooderson or Herschfelder.

In about 3 weeks time I will be getting to do just that - give my son or daughter the moniker that will stick with them for the rest of their lives.

Yikes.

Seven periods of school, seven beatings a day, roughly seven stitches a beating, and eventually seven years to life.

I want to name my son James Patrick after Jimmy Page. I don't want to name him James Page because I don't like Page as a middle name. No offense to anyone with that middle name. 8)

funny, i was just talking about this with my husband the other night. not that we have any plans to procreate as of yet, but i want unusual names if i can. or at least names thatarent as popular as ours (jessica and kevin).

anyway, so my picks SO far are......

Girls:
-Lola ("Lolita")
-Stella
-Baby

Boys:
-Wolfgang
-Sebastian
-Stone

To make matters worse on them my first girl will have the middle name "Kevyn" and my first boy will have the middle name "Jes" or "Jesse"
