I just ate a plateful of delectable southern food made fresh by my neighbor Robyn from Houston. It was my first time trying collared greens, and I am in heaven. Mmm mmm mmm.

I should've realized this thread would not be popular on a PJ message board.

Bammer's saying: "Greens have collars?"

You know what? For once i'll agree with you there. I don't live in the south. But I DO live about as far south as I can without actually being in the south.

collared greens are alright, better with vinegar... but Southern fried chicken, isn't the same without a large helpin' of mashed taters smothered with gravy and fried Silver Queen corn and freshly made green beans and buttermilk biscuits slathered in butter....

Now that's a Southern dinner.... :D

Yes, I lived on long island my whole life up until about 6 months ago or so. I don't know about North Carolina being in the south. As I said, i think it's about as close as you can get without actually being in the south. But I'm probably just in denial.

they way i figure, it's touching tennessee so it's in the south..i've never really been there, just to the part of it that's kinda close to Gatlinburg

Yes... you are correct sir. But atleast I'm among the many, many fellow new yorkers who are moving down here. I got a new job recently, and it turns out one of the guys i'm working with lived no more than 5 minutes away from me.

And eh. living in the south has it's advantages. Mainly all the backroads where I can recreate those classic car chases in dukes of hazzards with my general lee.

There is always a hay truck. Always.

when in doubt, use the waffle house rule.

more than ten waffle houses in a state and it's "the south"
