I'm headed out there in a few days and I have some questions to anyone from the area.

Where can I get the best(hottest) wings?

How far is it to Niagra Falls?

Any good campsites near by or between Buffalo and the Falls?

thanks!

-don't go for hottest go for the most tasty with a good spice, any shithead can put pepper sauce on wings, it takes a master to get good flavor

-not far, an hour or so but that's just pulling something out of my ass

-yes there are campsites but stick to state parks. The mountains aren't far and are sure to offer cool campsites, if you want a beachy existance check out state parks on the lakes. For a really cool time spend a day in the Finger Lakes doing a wine tour. They're actually not bad and you can hit a bunch without driving very far. Seneca Lake has good ones

Well, I was born and raised in Buffalo, so I'll see if I can help...

1) The best wings are probably some small mom 'n pop type place. For the novelty value, you can go to the Anchor Bar on Main St in downtown Buffalo. They are the folks who invented the wing.

2) Niagara Falls is roughly 45 minutes from Buffalo. If you've never been there, it's worth the trip! Hit up the Canadian side, it's better than the American side.

3) Not really familiar with campsites in the area, but I know there are some good state parks nearby...Letchworth State Park and Allegheny State Park that do have camping available. The Finger Lake region (mentioned above) is very nice, but probably 2-3 hours away.

Have fun!

Aren't you the guy that sniffs toilet paper after wiping your ass in the middle of the night? I'm not from the Buffalo area, but my recommendation would be to discontinue that practice.

Well, they didn't "invent" the part of the chicken we love to deep fry and eat....but they were the first to take that part of the chicken, deep fry it, and make it the tasty treat we all love. So, yes and no.

In Buffalo, they are actually called "chicken wings." It's only outside Buffalo they are called "Buffalo Wings." Named for the city, not the animal, Mrs. Simpson...

If so, I wanna go eat some wings.

I got wings at the Anchor, damn good. Other than that Buffalo is a shithole.

Quint, good fucking memory.

dude, the anchor bar is good, but LaNova is world renown for Pizza and wings. can't go wrong with Just Pizza downtown either. They have a great Jerk Chicken Pizza, and wings the size of your forearm!!!

Also, if you are there for a friday or saturday, head down to Chippewa St. Tons of people and bars.

We were there on a Sunday and it was like a ghost town. I did like seeing the old Veterans Area, it made me think of a killer Dead show from May '77 I had on tape.

yeah, the city has taken a population hit over the years. I lived right downtown during college and it was awesome. Its an old dirty city, but its dirt cheap and I loved it.
