Can we get some half decent cantidates next time around? Maybe McCain? Obama? Can Dean ever redeem himself to our over explicit media? Maybe Colin Powell will grow the balls to run?.. or does Bush have a son we don't know about to pass the throne down to yet again. :?

After the last two elections, I seriously could not give less of a fuck of what happens to this country. The US just gained a new non-voter, as far as I'm concerned. Call me bitter, whatever, I just think this whole system is bullshit. And honestly, we'll probably be in the midst of WWIII by the time 2008 rolls around, so there will be bigger fish to fry.

The democrats need to throw out a sacrificial lamb in 2008.

Hilary and Obama are viable options. However, i highly doubt a woman or an african american would actually WIN with their first appearance on a major party ticket.

So throw out a woman or an african american in 08.. let them lose...

then run Obama (or a woman) in 2012.

They really fucked up in letting edwards be the vp nominee this year. They should have let him wait in the wings, gain some political saavy and have him run in 08.... as a republican, he intrigued me in the primaries, but lost his luster when he started talking once being nominated as vp.

The Democrats will run another trainwreck in 2008 in Hillary Clinton. If you think this country was polarized before, just wait until she declares she's running (probably by next year).

A women or African-American? What are you smoking? After this election, if one thing has been shown, it's that americans are more more morally conservative than the media wants to show us. Why do you think Republicans will control all three levels of the federal government? No chance a minority or female breaks that hold. Plus Hillary is a dirt whore, who can burn in hell for all I care. Opps, there's probably a hit out on me now for speaking out against a Clinton. Anybody who crosses them ends up dead or in jail.

I think Oprah should run. I think Michael Moore mentioned this in one of his books before, but you have to admit, except the fact she has no governmental experience, she's the perfect populist candidate.

That the only viable options are a giant douche and a turd sandwich. Don't you watch South Park?

I really don't like Bush, but Hillary Clinton is the devil! I have a little more respect for Bill getting his dick sucked because of her. I think he just needed a wife for his political career and she seemed to fit the position, exceeding his expecations, just not physically.

Let me tell you what's bullshit about the system... and this is NOT an attack on the Republicans... but Democrats as well. There is too much corporate interest in politics. Period. Do you really think we have a vote? No, money talks b.s. walks. Exxon, Time Warner, Citibank, Halluburton...this is where the votes come from. They control the politicians with their soft money contributions, favors, deals. They fatten the wallets and pay for the ads that convince US the voters to go out and pick between two sides of the same damn coin. You'll always here rhetoric from both Dems and Republicans about eliminating 'soft-money' contributions, but like term limits, it's really not that popular of an idea.

So what can be done about it? Corperate interests keep a two party system in place in America... when will the little guy ever have a realistic chance to run for President without selling out to an Elephant or Donkey?

I think you had a better leg to stand on with this arguement on Monday.

The fact is, the 527's poured more money into this election than just about anyone (large corporations included)... and it did NOTHING.

money had less to do with this election than any election in the past 40 years.

The democrats tried the "if you cant beat them, join them" in trying to use large sums of money to ultimately, buy voters.

maybe it's time to go to the only man who isn't a douche or a turd. Maybe we we're right in looking to Ralph Nader. I wasn't fully sold on Kerry being that guy that was going to change the country. I'm a leftist, and even the #1 liberal in congress didn't impress me, so that's gotta say something for what the rest of the country saw.

In poll after poll it is showed that people want liberal policies. Why is it that they don't want a democratic president?

What polls are you reading? The only polls that matter happened yesterday and they proved that people want anything but liberal policies. Why will Republicans control all three branches of the federal government?

You're missing my point. You think the amount of money poured in by the 527's had no affect on voter turnout?

The problem is that this country will always remain a two party system, and we'll always have the choice of the lesser of two evils because there is no way for third parties to compete. This is the inheirent flaw in the system.
