As much as many hate to admit it, Bush has won the election. Kerry needs to concede, TODAY! Don't ruin your career, your reputation for the sake of dragging us through another fruitless soap opera. For the good of the country, CONCEDE.

No shit, everyone needs to stop jumping the gun. There's still time and more than a hundred thousand votes to count, including those of troops overseas. I think it would be criminal for a candidate to concede when the votes of those who are risking their lives have yet to be counted. Just chill out, we'll find out when we'll find out.

It's thinking like that which will lead us to another 2000 nightmare. Everyone knows that Ohio has been decided, the only way Kerry wins Ohio is if all of the provisonal votes are in his favor. Hell, even the secretary of state from Ohio has declared it mathematically impossible.

If Kerry has to concede, I want to to go out FIGHTING.

I hope he makes them recount and I hope he does not give up until he knows all the votes have been counted.

edit: i am fully aware that kerry most likely will not win. count them anyway. the people in ohio stood in line for hours to vote, the least we could do is assure them that they did not do it in vain.

All the legitimate votes have been counted. Those provisional votes are only to be counted in a situation where they can make a difference. In this case, they can't make a difference, the gap is too large to overtake. Again, there were only 135,000 provisional ballots issued, he's down by 136,000 votes. By law, those provisional votes should not be counted unless necessary, and should certainly not be used to trigger a recount.

I don't know what state CNN is giving to Kerry that no one else is, or why CNN isn't giving Ohio to Bush, but they're alone on this one.

What are you missing in Ohio? The difference is 130,000+. With provisional votes, Kerry would have to win them all. Don't forget, even if there are 150,000 provisionals out there, at least 10% will get tossed. It's almost statistically impossible for Kerry to win.

To the person that said he wants a recount -- why? How do you target Ohio more than any other close races? Are you suggesting there's voter fraud? Misread ballots? If so, let's recount all 1,012,000 votes. I know I had to wait in line more than 2 hours where I voted. Does that mean I was disenfranchised? How is that any different than lines in Cleveland?

It would be a big mistake for Kerry to legally challenge Ohio. This is not Florida in 2000. There was no voter fraud. Kerry is down by 4,000,000 votes in the popular vote (as opposed to less than 500,000 for Bush) and it's statistically difficult to garner enough votes to win.

This country does not need another repeat of 2000.
