"The comments made by David today regarding the commissioner of baseball do not in any way reflect the views of the club," the Red Sox said in a statement. "The club believes the commissioner has demonstrated visionary leadership and integrity, and we recognize that his contributions to the game have been enormous. Thus, we apologize to the commissioner."

why is Wells an asshole? Cause he says how he really feels? I respect that no matter if he says dumb stuff or not.

I mostly liked him when he was on the Yankees but there were many times that he came across as a complete douche.

there's no middle ground with Wells, you either love him or hate him.

True, I have to agree, I wish there was more guys like him and Schilling, by the way, they need to test Giambi again for Roids.

I would guess that Giambi is off he roids. he couldn't be that stupid could he? Although Palmeiro was. I'm sure the steroids aren't in his system anymore but look at the size of him. The steroids from before are obviously still helping him today. Even if Bonds is off the juice, his past use will most likely still help him break Ruth and Aaron's record. And that really sucks.

from Gammons:

Quote:
• Jason Giambi, who right now is hitting like a healthy Barry Bonds, said, "It really took me a long time to get back my swing, my strength and my confidence. That illness last year knocked a lot out of me. I almost had to relearn some things. But it's back now." There have been whispers about Giambi and renewed supplemental help, but he has to take daily medication for the tumor on his thyroid and is tested for medical progress every two weeks. "There [are] still enough medical concerns about his condition," said one source close to Giambi, "that he can only put what they allow him into his body."

Gammons is hardly the most reliable source in the world, but it's an interesting point.

palmeiro didn't have a medical condition that steroid use would adversely affect either.

Wells should be talking to the players rep who makes the steriod rules and regs, Donald Fehr, not Bud Selig.

Right, don't bother the commissioner with such petty bullshit.
