I just realized that the Gorge show marks the 6 mo anniversary of my Boycott of WalMart (which I can't really take that much credit for, I used to shop there nearly once a week, but my younger brother requested that his wedding gift be that I "never shop at fucking walmart again" so I haven't been since Feb 1 2005).

I also boycott veal. Growing up my mom would never eat (or let me eat) veal because it was "inhumane".. so that is pretty ingrained in me.

I Guess I'd boycott goose pate if I ever was offered it, but that is a combo of inhumane and EWWWWWW-GROSSSS.

So, I searched and it appears that the following boycotts have been suggested.. are they still going? What else are you RMers Boycotting? (and, no, CREED doesn't count--that's kind of a given)

Green Habit = Cracker Barrel
MacJunkie = ford
GV = Dominos
Kiddo=Circuit City
Geg=The Man (didn't work out.. friend bought him a NIN cd)

Here's what I boycott and how good I am at sticking to it.

Starbucks (90%), Wal-Mart (75%), Jiffy Lube (100%), Budweiser (97%), veal (100%), McDonalds (60%)

EDIT: How come this isn't in N&D?

I'm boycotting clothes. I don't wear 'em unless I leave the house. (Well, except for underpants cuz I don't want smelly furniture.)

should it be? I'm not really providing any news, nor am I really debating anything?

perhaps I'm a poor category-chooser.

add wal mart to my list, also proctor and gamble (thanks to PJDoll, and i am still cleaning out my home of these products...so many!)

i used to boycott burger king (they were burning down rain forest and making it into cattle crazing land...now that i write that, that seems weird) and shell (supported apartheid in South Africa) and Dominoes (the owner owned several brothels of women for his own enjoyment, women who may or may not have been held agaisnt their will).

but over the years i have heard these particular companies have stopped these particular evil ways.

Christmas Tree Shop

I will not ever step foot in it ever. The first time was 1998 or so, and it was enough to make me boycott it forever.

then again, given your particular state, perhaps you should grab a waterproof something or other, incase the old "bag of water" decides to flood your furniture.

its this stupid but huge chain store that sells everything from glasses and knicknacks to arts and crafts things and cheap furnature.

its 900 women and old farts tooling around browsing and looking for bargains while completely forgetting how to walk like humans and its infuriationg to be in the place if your under 50 yrs old.

my fiance loves it to death but i just drop her off out front and sit in the car with tunes on...
