One interesting fact: The "war on terror" was obviously a contributing factor, if not THE contributing factor to Bush's victory. However, NYC, D.C. and PA, the three areas directly effected by 9/11 all voted to remove Bush from power.

Yet somehow the Adminstration convinced the sheep in the south and midwest that they/we are at risk of a terrorist attack and Bush/Cheney was the only thing that could "protect" them. They prayed on the weak and ignorant and pulled it off...Rove is a puppet master.

So Kerry failed to produce a better strategy. How am I a fucking sheep for voting for the guy I agree with?

I would say that the thing that factored in the most was his conservativism, not the war on terror. People in the south / mid-west view him as a moral man, and they want to bring morality back into this country.

I wouldn't say you're a sheep, because you're a pretty sharp kid, but a lot of the folks in the red states? Yeah, a lot of them are sheep.

yeah it appears terrorism wasn't as big a deal as everyone thought. IT really came down to personal moral issues. More people, evangelicals, felt the president was "one of them."

If it's all about morality, how the hell did NEVADA go to Bush? I grew up in Vegas, and let me tell you, it's not a very "moral" place. Shit, as liberal as I am, I made the choice in my teens never to raise a kid there.

Apparently you can't actually agree with Bush unless you are just a blindly following him like sheep.

and I say as a former Democrat gone Independent gone Libertarian the Democratic party is in shambles and has nothing to offer but elitism and veiled hate.

You lost this election, because people in middle america who feel belittled and forgotten by a party they used to overwhelmingly vote for came out and gave elitists a big middle finger.

Obviously, not everyone who voted for Bush is a "sheep", the multi-millionaires etc...certainly benefited. However, to win this election Bush prayed on the ignorant and the poor in the south and midwest, and struck at their religious beliefs and scared them into thinking a vote for Kerry was a death sentence for their family.

The people directly effected by 9/11 were well aware that Bush was not the protector he claims to be, its a shame that this country has such a weak portion of the population that the Republicans prayed on to fill their pockets. The majority of the people who voted for Bush absolutely are NOT the people who will benefit from his Administration.

I respectfully disagree. Almost every single time we saw the candidates, all we heard about was Iraq and the war on TERRAH! If they had run on the issues other than this, I think Kerry would have won, even if he wasn't the "ideal" Dem candidate.
