If this is true, I can almost guarantee you'll see the phrase "Los Angeles Saints" next season. Benson and the governor have been arguing about funding for a new stadium for a long time, and now with this disaster, I can see them being even stingier with funding.

I don't see NO losing the Saints. I wouldn't be surprised if the government did something about it if the people made a stink about losing their team. It's gonna get complicated, that's for sure

If I was a Louisianan, I'd make a huge stink if the gov't paid any more money in Tom Benson's pocket when there's MUCH more important things to spend on right now.
Even without this news (and I still can't find a link), I figured the Saints would be even more prime for relocation because NO's economy is going to go in the shitter and make running a team there less profitable.

Hate to break your hearts, guys from Los Angeles......I think your best bet is that if the team moves, it will be to San Antonio.
Tags has been salivating to get a team in LA for quite some time. This would be the right chance.
I could see San Antonio, but the Alamodome doesn't have all the fancy luxury boxes that Benson was striving for earlier in New Orleans--might be the same problem.

I truly don't think there will ever be 3 NFL teams in Texas
I think I heard on TV that the owner says that is his plan...
SA is the temporary plan

And that should answer Jason's question.
thanks nick

Why not?
Popular opinion. There just aren't enough fans to go around as it is, and when you add to it that Austin people won't follow a SA team despite it's proximity, there really is no point. SA is big, but it's not big enough...
I will admit that the AlamoDome is the perfect place for a team to play though... the Cowboys used to hold practice in there and it's nice... if the aints do end up moving to Texas, that'll be why.
