From a mailing from Senator Ted Kennedy:

Quote:
9 numbers that tell just how bad George Bush and the GOP have been for America:

1,841--the number of soldiers killed in Iraq as of August 12, 2005

$300 billion--spent on the Iraq war as of August 12, 2005

0--number of weapons of mass destruction found in Iraq

4--the mulitple by which NOrth Korea has increased its nuclear weapons arsenal while George Bush led us into Iraq

$236 billion--the surplus Bill Clinton left George Bush

$333 billion--the current deficit under George Bush

1 in 5--the number of American children below the poverty line, an increase of 13% since George Bush took office

5 million--the number of people who have lost their health insurance since George Bush took office

0--the number of mistakes George Bush admits to making in his first term

and spare me the jokes and sneers...we all know what he did on that bridge and it has nothing to do with this topic.

A better number is the average price of gas in 1999 was $1.36 a gallon. It was $3.15 at the pump yesterday.

I'm not concerned about the price vis a vis New Orleans issue or inflation, I'd expect the price to go up every year, but for the price to near TRIPLE under GW's watch is NOT something you can merely write off to cost of living or a national disaster. And don't give me the argument about increased state and federal taxes. Before the disaster, the average price was $2.55 a gallon. Still over DOUBLE.

You forgot:

0.194 - The average blood alcohol level of Ted "as scott-free as OJ" Kennedy during his congressional votes.

Haha! Oh, Ted Kennedy said it, so nevermind the message--all of which is true--let's just laugh him off and pretend everything's alright! Let's say anyone other than Ted Kennedy recited those readily availale statistics. How would you feel about the current administration's track record then?

would you rather have shakespeare himself read you his work, or bozo the clown? which would you take more seriously?

seeings as how he is coming from "americas royal" family, and one of the more corrupt presidents (at least morally) and the whole bridge incident, i dont think he should be putting anyone down at all

yeah, when the facts are kinda indisputable, its easy to dismiss them when you don't like the messenger. Sometimes I wonder where people's heads are at. Are you not watching TV or reading a newspaper? Are you not passing the gas station? Are you not looking around at the economy right now? As biased as the "mainstream" media can be accussed of, certainly you can also agree that idiots like Hannity or Rush have a bias too. All you have to do is ask one simple question when it comes to Bush's Presidency: Are you better off since he came into office and has he handled the problems he's faced effectively?

all anyone can do is speculate, for all you know, it could be 100 times worse if gore or flip flop were in office. of course things were better before bush took office, but thats not to say its all because of him. would 911 have ever happened had gore been in office? i cant say for sure it would (though i side that it would have)

I can honestly say I am better off than I was when Bush took office. Of course one thing has nothing to do with the other.
