okay, i started to watch this movie this weekend, and i just did not get into it at all.

in fact, it completely baffeld me, probably in the same way "Clerks" baffled people.

so people who are fans of this movie/character...what's the deal?

Completely unfunny.

I don't understand the Clerks reference, however.

Clerks was a weird film that was more of a slacker portrait and generational commentary than it was a story-based movie.

i was thinking that napolean dynomite may be that same sort of thing portrait/commentary for this generation and that is why i did not quite get it?

or am i reading way too much into a really fucking stupid movie?

There is nothing to "get" about this movie. It is what it is. It's more about the characters than any sort of plot, because there really is none.

It's really not that funny. A trend with teenage kids these days is to take things that are mediocre at best and make them seem excellent, and then to quote them to death and buy all the merchandise that they can. Lord knows they don't have the taste to appreciate things that are actually worth talking about.

you do realize, if you just never admitted to being a UNC fan we could have been the worlds greatest duo, like batman and robin, simon and garfunkel, ted kennedy and jack daniels....
