Does he have any semblence of success at the position at all ever?
Why does this guy get hired? Does Pitt just like losing? He was awful in Chicago, even worse in Miami and he's opened this season looking very much himself. You tell me, why do they keep rehashing this guy?

Yeah, but look at Pete Carroll. He was nearly as inept of a pro coach, and now he's the f'ing coach of the year in D-1. I'm not saying Wannstedt will ever have any success, but it wouldn't be the first time a completely useless pro coach did relatively well with a college team.

sure didn't look like that versus Notre Dame but that's a good point, still, why rehash this proven loser when there are plenty of other options?

You mean his first game with none of his own recruits on the field?

another good point, still, what is the impetus to hire Dave W? Are there not loads of other coaches out there that deserve a shot before him? He must be a Pitt grad right? I can't think of a single good reason other than that to hire him over any of the other candidates.

Could be, it just seems odd to me that Pittsburg would really want Wannstedt it's not as if he seems very hungry to succede. There have to be a few new guys out there that deserve a chance before Wanndstedt gets another opportunity
