Agents Made Exploding Chocolate For Campaign Of Sabotage
POSTED: 8:06 am EDT September 6, 2005

LONDON -- It's enough to make you lose your sweet tooth.

German agents designed an exploding chocolate bar during World War II. According to documents released Monday by the British National Archives, the exploding candy bar was to be used for a campaign of sabotage against the United Kingdom.

A sketch of the device shows a bomb made of steel covered with a thin layer of real chocolate. It was designed to blow up seven seconds after someone tried to break off a piece.

Historians said there's no evidence the Germans ever actually used the exploding candy bar. But other disguised bombs, including explosive cans of peas, were issued to German agents.

I think I saw this episode of Bugs Bunny.

Iraqi "insurgents" use 'bomb-dogs'. Live dogs packed with explosives.

First, I find it horrendous that someone would mess with a piece of chocolate. Is nothing sacred?

Second, the second post in this thread is deeply disturbing.
