So due to my disgust with the Bush administration's performance and my absolute disgust with all things Kerry, hell, most all democrats, I decided I was definitely going to vote libertarian. I knew that the LP was having a tough time getting on the ballot here and decided that if they weren't on there, I'd go ahead and write in Ron Paul (R-TX).

So I get to the polls this morning, look at the sample ballot. No LP, no Green, nothing but dem and rep. So now I know I've got to write in my boy Paul. So I get my ballot and ask the woman where I write in a candidate. She's quick to tell me that, in OK, you can't write in a candidate. So I'm left with dumb and dumber to vote for. I voted Bush, basically because of the social security issue.

I feel disenfranchised.

I can understand your frustration. If I were you, I would have said fuck it and walked out. In this case it would have been completely justified.

heh, I tried to write in Nader in 2000 and the old precinct worker I asked looked at me like I was some kind of a moron. He had no clue what I was talking about. God I want to move.

That is weird as hell. I did one of the computer balllots here in Austin, and voted almost straight libertarian. Green was not on the ballot, but there was a write in slot. You just got royallly fucked.

As well you should. I would have been outraged. There is something seriously wrong with your country's political system. Nothing you don't already know of course, I know based on your past posts that you're a strong supporter of a multi-party system.

You might be the only Bush voter I'll forgive.;)

Maybe if the Dems hadn't fought to keep Nader off the ballot in so many states you could have voted for him. ;)

Nader wasn't even on the ballot here in 2000. I really like our voting system except for the lack of a write in name. I suppose you could just deface the ballot though.

that's bullshit. Even SC had everyone on the ballot.

I voted Nader. He speaks in plain (though slightly mumbled) english... therefore I can understand what he's talking about, and I like his ways.

I was going to vote nader when I would just "do what eddie does",
but I didnt, Im glad I didnt vote for him back then.
I have a hard time following what he says.
Which doesnt make him bad, but if you cant understand what someone is saying, then you just dont know what he stands for.

Well I have only seen Nader talk one time on TV, about a month ago.
Its possible I could've been high.
But he was flinching, kinda talking a little soft. I think

I cant read a leaders website to find out things, He must be able to address the people.
One thing I cant stand is when Im struggling to understand what one is saying.
I did understand some of the things he said, which I liked.
But I do feel I would've been wasting my vote.
Cause I do support the fight on terror.
