This is the only sport that I actually follow throughout the regular season, the only sport that I bother remembering all the names and stats and matchups, and the only sport that causes me physical distress when I watch a certain team. What is it? My upbringing? The mythology? That singular feeling of a packed house on a saturday afternoon? Whatever it is, I love it, and I damn sure can't explain it. Here's to college football!

i dunno though, it's saturdays in autumn. what could be better than watching a game, going out and throwing the ball around, then come back in and watch another? if you do anything else on saturdays in the fall you either have a vagina or are an asshole NFL fan.

Fuck, I just realized I won't be able to throw the ball around with my bro until Thanksgiving. Lame.

i watch the games on saturday. no throwing footballs, though. i'm horribly uncoordinated.
i started watching the games, though, because my dad did it. if i watched, i could spend time with him. and if i watched and understood, it was something we had in common. it was our thing to do. college games on saturdays, NFL on sundays and monday nights.

College Football is the greatest. That was pretty much all i did on Saturday, between Michigan/ND and Texas/Ohio St and even the Ohio/Pitt game Friday night. Saturday during the fall are great because you can simply watch football from 11 am thru 1 am. College football rules

Look around a college stadium, then look around a pro stadium. The NFL is all about "the show" and there are a million advertisements posted up everywhere you look. NCAA is more about the team and the tradition, and the actual game that's happening on the field.
College players don't have contract holdouts, they don't demand trades, and for the most part they don't think they're bigger than the team.
I could go on for hours here, so I'll just stop right now. College football dominates.

I remember when I used to live up there, I would go to Princeton football games with my parents every weekend and throw that orange football around before the game and at halftime. Old Palmer Stadium... we'd watch Keith Elias run all over other Ivy League games... some of the best memories I have were at college football games

Inside the stadiums? Not in Husky Stadium. There are a few modest ones next to the scoreboards, but that's it.
Which brings me to another point. Qwest Field is such a damn joke. There are huge video screens at either end of the stadium...but there's no scoreboard next to them. The only scoreboards (you know, the ones that show down & distance, time left in the quarter, and THE SCORE, are extremely small and they're very non-descript...there are only two of them, they're hard to see, and it's fucking bullshit).
