"'We're not in the Middle East to bring sweetness and light to the world. We're there to get something we and our friends in Europe depend on. Namely, oil.'" --xxxxxx on the Warren Olney show, 89.9, Los Angeles, 5/21/04
I hope you take the time to read those links to see how they are all interconnected through the military/industrial complex and past and previous administrations.
Now lets take a look at some statements by PNAC as to why they exist:
The Project for the New American Century intends, through issue briefs, research papers, advocacy journalism, conferences, and seminars, to explain what American world leadership entails. It will also strive to rally support for a vigorous and principled policy of American international involvement and to stimulate useful public debate on foreign and defense policy and America's role in the world.
hmmm interesting, tell me more! You cry?? Well shcuks, ok. Here's the vision of america your VP, Sec Def, Dep Sec Def, brother of the president and other members of the administration:
this is taken from a report written a year before 9/11, btw the head of this paper also wrote a book entitled Of Paradise and Power: America and Europe in the New World Order http://www.newamericancentury.org/Rebui ... fenses.pdf On Space:

and I suppose that the reason no major news network picked up on this prior to election night was because they all wanted Bush to win.
The PNAC definitely is highly controversial. But you, or I guess the blogger has GROSSLY taken Midge Dectors comment out of context. The full paragraph is a presentation of the extremist perception why we are in Iraq followed by the actual reasons behind.
I like your set up that September 11th was a set up though, it is cute.

I'm confused. Exactly what is the point you're trying to make? The size changes in the font aren't helping.
sorry i don't have time to hold yer hand

The PNAC scares the shit out of me. The thing I've always been confused about, though, is why it hasn't garnered more attention. Not only from mainstream media, though I can see how they would be apprehensive with the criticism of the "liberal media", but the far left wingers, the Micheal Moore types, have made little to no mention of this.

I don't know why ppl like Michael Moore and others don't....but as far as major networks you have to take a look at who actually owns those networks. Like GE owns NBC and co-owns MSNBC, CNBC....and they sold munitions to BOTH the US and Germany during WWIII, in fact they sold them to Germany at a lower price further prolonging the war and causing evenmore causalties. The military/industrial complex's roots go just as far as groups like pnac's do. They make their money from wars and death and destruction. Shock and awe equals high profit margisn for these ppl.
Take a look at those links for individual members of pnac and trace them thru other groups involved in pushing for wars and whatnot.
They talk about how bad Saddam was, how bad he was to fill those mass graves...well shouldn't the ppl who supported him, funded him, armed him and looked the other way [i]while[/] he was committing these atrocities be held just as accountable?? THese neo-cons supported Saddam long after the Iran/Iraq war (and hey, just forget we armed both sides during that conflict), in fact Cheney and Halliburton did business with Saddam, Iran, Libya, Syria....up until he ran for VP.
Look into the Carlyle Group, they are another shady group. That has members like Daddy Bush and lots of former administration officials...ppl making policy then coming out, joining up and making profits from those policies.... In fact the Carlyle Group is the biggest arms dealer to the coalition of the willing.
It just goes on and on and ppl are just too lazy and apathetic to care much\
Oh, by the way, MagicforFact, I'm still waiting on that link

My problem with all this is some people's nonchalant attitude about invading and occupying a country for natural resources. Of course using created fear as a basis for such invasion. The lives lost and treasure spent don't seem worth the 3 trillion worth of oil Iraq sits on IMO. But more importantly the lies and deception that were and are being used to sell this War to Congress and the American people with trumped up cherry picked intelligence from defectors like Challabi and pre-1991 "threats". As well only an "...outside catalyzing event...or a new Pearl Harbor" would cause the fear to allow such a preventive attack on a country that had nothing to do with those responsible for 9/11. American support would only be possible if they fear such a tyrant who posed this grave and gathering threat to them. Which as we all know now, he didn't. Some will argue the Administration didn't know all the intelligence was bogus pre-1991, if that were the case then why did Collin Powell leave out the Uranium from Niger in his presentation at the U.N. Security Council? Two weeks early Dubya read this been debunked story in the 2002 State of the Union Address to the masses. Never even attempting to rectify this mistake, this Administration leaks an undercover CIA Agents identity to Novak, subsequently ending her career. All because Joseph Wilson (her Husband) did what this Administration seems to be incabable of doing: tell the truth.

hahahaha if this were any more of an uniformed post, it would be to sad to be even laughable
And my post was meant to be informative?
Honestly, I should have you banned or at least deactivated. And why not? You are manipulative and you play dirty. Constantly. And you enjoy it. You rarely post things with any value what so ever, although I HAVE seen you make some good posts; you are certainly very capable. Instead, we have a thirty something year old man making mostly snide, condeceding remarks to a bunch of college and high school students and young people who obviously want to have some sort of constructive and participatory debate in a public forum.
Voice of Reason had a very informative and valuable post (like many people on this board) and instead of actually listening, some people went and pissed all over it.
I have never seen more cynicism and a willingness to turn a blind eye to the actions of our leaders than I have in the last several years.

lets break this down. first off, out of anyone who even comes close to posting in N&D, i would take common words facts over anyones, for the simple fact that his job is politics. he posts from well respected sites and doesnt jump the gun on anything
secondly, you should have me banned or deactivated? surely you jest? do you think you have that sorta power around here? youre laughable with that statement.
how am i manimpulative and dirty? certainly no more dirty and manipulative than you and a few others, but since you guys are on the side of anti-bush, you like to think all of your posts are honest and true for everyone, instead of being shit for people who dont accept them or support them, but hey, you guys know whats good for the whole country
awwwww poor baby doesnt like it when someone defends himself from snide and sarcastic remarks with snide sarcastic remarks. believe me, you have taken way more shots at me than i have you, and if you believe otherwise, im going to assume youre a bit high.
you dont want any debate whatsoever on here, you want people to believe what you do, so that you can justify your thoughts and feelings on here and feel better about yourself.
and maybe just maybe, its not people are turning a blind eye, its they have other things to worry about or find no problem with what the leaders are doing
Yeah, so, you know, considering oil is the world's most sought after natural resource, I'm guessing the next huge world war will be about who gets it.

I've given up on actually responding to you, and posts like yours. My opinion on this, at least in this forum, is completely inconsequential, as it is with many other things.

I'll agree with you that common word knows politics and is smart...but what has he contriubted to this thread other than saying he doesn't like the font size changes, and did it in an overexagerrated way?? Did i really use size changes a lot or 2-3 times?? and especially not mid sentance like he implied.
Anyway about why you are dirty...you can NEVER admit when you are wrong. We had a discussions once where you kept quoting me and only me and saying 'you' repeatedly, saying you question my stupidity, when you say things like...when i called you out on it and you could not back your statements up you said you meant 'you' figuratevly, then you resorted to ignoring everything but typos. Instead of just saying 'you're right, it wasn't you who said that' or something, something i've done several times when needed, you try to twist things to get out of it.
We need opposite views, life woudl suck and be boring if we all saw things the same way, it's the ppl on one the extreme ends who fuck it up for everyone else. ppl like the neo-cons who this thread is about.
I don't hate Bush, me and my gf had this conversation the other day, it's too hard to hate him, you can hate his stupidity and his ignorance but we really think he's just being used and manipulated by his administration like cheney...this thread is about what pnac's vision for america is, cheney is on the board of pnac, cheney is also vp so ths is not 'i hate bush, you should too!!! Pretty much the whole first post is taken directyly from pnac's own website. So if you or common word want to refute that, fine go ahead, more power to ya! Just don't come in like you have a point and complain abotu size changes and act like you made some grand point.
