Of course, that was down from #5 so we were very sad.

what does that even mean, though? it's awfully difficult to know what $31k can get you in WV without actually living there, but i'm willing to guess it goes a hell of a lot farther there than it would in, say, California.

Well, it still probably doesn't get very much, and since it's the median, half the households in the state make LESS than that amount.

I'm suprised B would post anytype of state vs. state posts after his OSU Buckeyes embarressed themselves in their behavior with the UT folk over the weekend. Its nice the OSU fans hit an innocent 56 year old man over the head with a whiskey bottle and spit on his wife. Lots more of violence took place also.

let the record show that Alabama was not part of any of these statistics
Is that a challenge?

for some reason I am bothered by the fact that they included this statistic at all.
I don't think a state's welfare is measured by computer-owning. Heck, why not state the percentage of kids who ride in cars without modern seatbelts or air bags or anti lock breaks or whatever?
or, for that matter, why not just tell us how many kids have the misfortune of having parents who don't own an SUV
anyway, i don't find it to be a compelling statistic when put in with the rest of those

I think it has more to do with the digital divide which is getting to be a new symptom of poverty.

I think it's relevant because these days you're probably going to be at a disadvantage if you haven't developed computer skills by the time you're done with high school.
