Possibly the greatest TV show of all time.
Well Mr. Burns had done it,
The power plant had won it,
With Roger Clemens clucking all the while,
Mike Scioscia's tragic illness made us smile,
While Wade Boggs lay unconscious on the barroom tile...
We're talkin' softball...
From Maine to San Diego.
Talkin' softball...
Mattingly and Canseco.
Ken Griffey's grotesquely swollen jaw.
Steve Sax and his run-in with the law.
We're talkin' Homer... Ozzie and the Straw.

It's gone beyond being a tv show. It's a way of life. Simpsons episodes and quotes are the other things that pop into my mind, besides PJ song lyrics, when I encounter things in life that has anything remotely to do with said scenes and quotes.

What's everyone so worked up about? So there's a comet -- big deal. It'll burn up in our atmosphere and what's ever left will be no bigger than a chihuahua's head.

Vacatetheword, what did you think about the episode where Bart makes the phone call to Australia and has to go there and get "booted"?
The koala on the helicopter at the end was classic.
It portrayed Australia perfectly. It's like i was looking through a window on my own street.

Still in the top 10% of shows on telelvision, but it is a mere shadow of its former self.

See my vest, see my vest, made from real gorilla chest.
Feel this sweater, there's none better than authentic Irish Setter.
See this hat? Twas my cat. My eveningwear? Vampire bat.
These white slippers are albino African endangered rhino.
Grizzly bear underwear, turtles' necks. I've got my share.
Beret of poodle on my noodle it shall rest.
Try my red robin suit, it comes one breast or two.
See my vest! See my vest! See my vest!
Like my loafers? Former gophers! It was that or skin my chauffeurs,
But a greyhound fur tuxedo would be best.

This is a great show, and just exceptionally clever. I think there are a lot of people who disregard the fact that there are so many messages and analogies in the show's action that are very smart and interesting. The animation is done in Korea and then the sound is done after, and it's a long process. The result is a show that blends clever humor, irony, and satire together perfectly. There has never been an episode where I haven't laughed.
...And it's just so quotable!

Ilove the Simpsons, they are the greatest show in television
i have over 100 episodes on dvd and tape. its amazing these shows have such humor and creativity
but in recent years i thin kthe simpsons lost what they had from 1994 to 1999, the years when the simpsons were golden and had every bit of funny possible , and i think south Park has picked up what the simpsons dropped , the humor that is fucking off the wall, becuase the simpsons di have that. southpark wasnt that funny of a show when it first came ouit or for the first couple of years, i mean it was funny but not on the level it is now. south park episodes now are fucking crazy funny, and i think that is what the simpsons lost
