You left out the part about how the Spartans should also be ahead of the Wolverines.

With the Spartans I've come to know and love, we'll suck ass and get beat by Illinois before then.

I really wish there were no polls until the first week of October.
The fact that writers' bias has a play on the national championship is fucking lunacy.

exactly... you can have a preseason poll, cause that sells papers and interest... but the next poll shouldnt be revealed until October

as an illinois alum, i'm pretty comfortable in saying that the spartans probably won't get beat by the illini.

They gave Cal a run this weekend.
only because Cal didnt take 'em seriously at first.. it was what, 17-7 illinois out the gates?... so Cal ended on a 28-3 run when they realized they were about to shit the bed
besides, it's michigan, not michigan state, that always blows one to the ililni every few years

Quote:
The new Harris poll replaces the AP poll, which the BCS had used in its formula for ranking teams since 1998. Last season, however, the AP told the BCS it could no longer use its media poll.
The AP preseason poll will be released Aug. 20, with the first regular-season poll Sept. 6. The AP national champion will be crowned after the Rose Bowl on Jan. 4.
So the AP national champion means absolutely nothing, basically.
