Does anyone else get the feeling that Bush has really established a "with him or against him" idea?

I feel like the half of America that didn't vote for him is going to be largely ignored. He has not unified this country. I believe that he and his administration largely shrug off the opinions that differ from theirs and don't give a flying fuck about it. He's about as far from a "moderate" as you can get.

Someone, anyone, PLEASE show me a half-dozen instances where he worked with Democratic leaders on an issue and they came to a mutual agreement. Where both sides gave something up.

I don't know about you guys, but it seems like half the voices in America are going to fall on deaf ears.

I feel the same way. And this wasn't limited domestically: internationally, he felt "you are either with us or you are with our enemies."

not that it's any of my business, but I thought you were a Bush supporter AS?
In any event, from what I've observed the only time in the past four years I witnessed anything close to a United State of America was in the nationwide response from people directly after the destruction of the World Trade Centers.
Hell, I was even impressed with W for his ability to FINALLY stop talking like he was reading everything from cue cards. The House and Senate even acted like one government if memory serves.

This was great while it was happening, but it's a pretty sad reflection on the country to realize the ONLY time we and our administration are willing to act as ONE UNITED BODY, is during the worst tradgedy of our generation.

What happened Tuesday was mostly a majority offering all branches of government to one party. There will be no unity completely as the numbers don't allow that. 3.5 million ahead convinces them to push forward with their agenda. By the same token, 1 ahead probably would too.

All we can do is be activists. Try to win with rhetoric and start the cycle over again. Or maybe we could just break the cycle and vote third party and really send the two parties in a spin. :)

God bless,

Jared

Liberal issues (especially social issues) will have a tough go for the next four years, but we should certainly not give up.

I think we need to change how the messages get across to the American people. Somehow, we have lost most of them.

We need a clear vision and solidarity.

I firmly believe that the pendulum will swing the other way once again, and I also believe we need to be ready for that.

Have you ever considered a job in a political communications position for the Democratic party (or whoever)? You have a way of saying things....better than the stuff that Tad Devine and the other Dem consultants have put forth...they should listen to you!
