Deal Includes 42 New Episodes Of "South Park"
Comedy Central and "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have renewed their contract in a deal that will keep the creative duo at the cable channel through the end of 2008, it was announced today by Doug Herzog, president, Comedy Central.
The deal consists of three more years of "South Park" episodes with 14 new episodes each year. Parker and Stone will continue under the new agreement to write, direct and edit every episode of "South Park" as they have since the creation of the show. New episodes of "South Park" will begin on October 19 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Looks like they will be competing with The Simpsons in quality and longevity. Funny how its 2 cartoons that have lasted this long. I think its because the cartoons arent as demanding as actors.

yeah, its has gotten a lot better since they decided to make it mostly a satire of current events. i honestly cant remember the last time i watched a new simpsons episode. or even wanted to.

My favorite tv show of all time. I'd prefer that they keep the show going this way instead of just doing 30-some episodes a year and then ending it. South Park is always hilarious and has great commentary on whatever is going on at the time.

definitely, their approach is much better now but i also like how they spread out the obvious political episodes and also throw in shit like Awesome-O

Wow, this is a surprise actually. I love South Park, but I remember Trey and Matt saying a little over a year ago that they would do two more seasons of South Park and then they're done. They already did one, so I figured this would be their last.
